“Wonderful wonderful Treworgey! We love it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

This is our third consecutive year at Treworgey and we have already booked our stay for 2014. We love it. We have 3 children and the place offers so much for them - horse riding, animal feeding, beaches nearby, swimming pool, pony club in the afternoons during school holidays etc. It is not cheap but it really feels like a home from home. It is totally eco friendly and impressively run by a truly lovely family, who have clearly put their heart and soul into it. On our third stay our shopping hadn't arrived and the owners kindly provided us with some food for the evening - free of charge. Every property has a beautiful garden where children can run free. We are so fond of this place and look forward to coming here with our children for many more years to come. We live in London and coming here really feels like 'ahhh peace at last'! Highly recommended.

We only reviewed Treworgey seven months ago, when we stayed in River Barn on a family break, so had not planned on another review after our recent stay. Afterall, what else could we say? However, it was all so perfect - again - that we decided it was worth sharing. This stay was in Well Cottage for a quiet week for two. It was exactly what we needed and as always Linda, Bevis, Jo, Alec and all the team at Treworgey made it perfect. Well is a lovely, cosy cottage just perfect for a romantic break. Every detail thought of and beautiful views from the lounge. After bracing days out (if we could be bothered - it was difficult to want to leave!) and occasional short walks with our now elderly dog around the lanes, there was nothing better than an evening in front of the fire. We are already counting the days until our next visit. Thank you to ALL at Treworgey for another wonderful stay.

We stayed here in March 2013 in the Stable Cottage, it was a beautiful homely cottage with everything you would need and more.
The home cooked food delivered right to your door is amazing and so are the cakes.
The surrounding area is beautiful and very scenic as long as it isnt raining when it turns very wet!
The main town of Looe is also beautiful but be warned the nearerst shop is a fair distance in car you really are out in the country you cannot nip to the shop.
All in all we loved our stay and will be visiting again soon we took our 2 dogs with us (huskies) and they loved it lots of good walks in woods, coastal paths, beaches and the cottages are very dog friendly the only thing i found was the garden wasnt as secure as i would have liked in terms of low fence and gate which my boys could have easily have jumped to get to the sheep right behind luckily they are well behaved but next time i will propably choose a different cottage but only for this reason eveything else was perfect.

Highly recommend and would definately come again.

Room Tip: The Stable is perfect but if you are staying with dogs that may be prone to jump fenches/gates to ge...

Thank you very much for taking the trouble to post a review. We are delighted that you so enjoyed your stay.

Yes, for those planning a stay, the nearest shop is the small but excellent community shop and post office in Duloe about a mile and a half away, then it's Looe about 3 miles for bakeries, small grocery stores, fishmongers, gift shops etc, and the nearest large supermarket it at Liskeard about 6 miles away. Waitrose, Asda, Tesco and food4myholiday.com also deliver here (as do Coombe Kitchen as you discovered!).

While every cottage has its own private, enclosed garden, some have higher fences and might be more suitable for bouncy dogs than others! - to anyone thinking of booking, please do let us know if you have any particular requirements when choosing your cottage and we will be very happy to suggest the most suitable choices. Stable garden fence is about three feet high (to make the most of the view up the valley when you are sitting in the garden). Secret Garden, for example, has a large, mainly walled garden, which I think you have chosen for your next stay and would be a good choice.

We look forward to welcoming you back. Thanks again for writing a review.

This is our second year at Treworgey and again we have enjoyed every moment.

Our cottage was spotless, warm and extremely well kitted out, just as on our first visit. Everything has been thought of so that you are free to un-pack and relax immediately - nothing is too much trouble. The information room is full of great ideas for things to see and do in Cornwall and should you want to have a relaxing day spent in your cottage, there is plenty for the children to do in the play barns.

The standard of accommodation is as good if not better than many top rated hotels I have stayed in - I would have not hesitation in recommending to any of my friends or family,

Many thanks again for a wonderful stay - we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

We came to Treworgey 11 years ago with our Irish Terrier then 9 mths old for her first holiday, we could not believe how fantastic it was and still is, on subsequent visits I think about 8 now the dog just sat herself in front of woodburner or fireplace staring at us (while we struggle in with things from the car) waiting for us to light it, we live in a cottage but want to buy one at Treworgey and stay for ever please!
I will not go over reasons why it is so wonderful because others have said it all already on this review page, I truly believe that all who stay here are captured by a little bit of magic and that we all feel it is our little secret place in this mad mad world.
We will not be returning for a while only because we had to have our beloved 'Irish' put to sleep 2 weeks ago, we did not know it but it was to be her last holiday in Nov 2012 at Treworgey, she never really settled at any other place we visited in other parts of the country, we thank Linda Bevis and family for some lovely memories. Don't change anything !
We will be back when we hopefully get a new 4 legged friend next year whom we can share wonderful Treworgey.

Room Tip: Any cottage depending on size of party will be fantastic

The tension and stress falls away as we drive up the lane, it's like home from home to us. Where we go to recharge our batteries. It never disappoints. Treworgy is the benchmark against which I measure all other holiday accommodation. We first visited 17 years ago for our Silver wedding anniversary. We stayed in one of the Suites which alas no longer exist. Linda brought breakfast and left it outside the bedroom door. Bliss!!
Since then we have returned at least a dozen times, mostly as a couple but also with children and grandchildren. (They loved the heated swimming pool, horse riding and farm animals) We have stayed in 6 of the cottages, some several times and each has its own appeal, each is unique. All are wonderful. Forget your typical holiday let, these cottages are furnished with all the thought and care you put into your own home. Spotlessly clean, the comfyest beds and fluffiest towels. They think of absolutely everything. Forgotten your toothbrush? There will be a spare in the bathroom. Button come off your shirt? There is needle and cotton in the emergency kit.
You get privacy, peace and quiet and meals delivered to your fridge if you want them. If there weren't other countries and other places in the UK I wanted to visit, I'd never go anywhere else.
If I could pick Treworgy up and put it down in a different place each year, my life would be complete. Having just spent the most relaxing Christmas there, can't wait to book our next visit.

Since 2007, when we spent our honeymoon at Treworgey, we have returned at least once a year to this idyllic haven in Cornwall. We have stayed in various cottages, each with their own individual charm. And so how to describe this place to someone wondering whether to take the plunge and pay them a visit. Here is my list of what to expect, this is by no means definitive but it's a start: spectacular views, fabulously comfy beds (how do they get the linen so sparkly white!!), home touches, fresh air, roaring fires, board games, afternoons dozing with a good book (provided for you if you have forgotten yours), long walks, short strolls, FOOD FOOD FOOD (I must learn to make cakes like Coombe Kitchen makes them - delivered to your fridge..... wonderful!). So what if it sometimes rains (there is nothing more cozy than being holed up in one of the stunning cottages as the rain lashes down outside), and by goodness you'll struggle to find somewhere as beautiful to be when the sun shines. It's set in the most beautiful countryside where the overriding feeling is of peace and calm and serenity. The office is just round the corner from most of the cottages but you never feel that your privacy is being encroached upon. If you need to speak to someone they are there in a flash to help sort a problem or offer a suggestion for a day out. All in all you simply cannot go wrong if you choose Treworgey for a short break, a summer holiday or a honeymoon. I can't imagine a year without a Treworgey holiday in it and I hope I never have to.

Room Tip: ALL of the cottages are fantastic - go back year after year and try all of them!
