“Great atmosphere and cuisine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013

Lovely quaint historic building. Friendly staff, great choice of dishes on the menu. Salmon was the best I've ever had, melted in the mouth. Was served with three large new potatoes. chips, green beans and ratatouille - as well as salad garnish and hollandaise. Absolutely delicious.

“sunday carvery”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013

It's a bit '70's. Dark, tables tightly packed, food a bit slapdash. Roast beef was well cooked. Vegetables a bit overdone. Good enough to fill your tum on a murky day in Looe.

“Superbly cooked fish”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

Olde worlde ambience is not my choice but this is (mostly) genuine old and still works well so I and many more enjoy it. More importantly if hungry, the food is simple but very good - superb scallops and fish with plentiful vegetables included in the price (no annoying 'sides'). Puddings/sweets looked enormous (lots of cream) and people were really enjoying them but too much walking meant I skipped them. Service was prompt to the point that letting the table go to another sitting seemed necessary but at least a jug of tap water was provided with no fuss alongside the wine.

“Lovely restaurant”

Really wanted the carvery but missed out. Had the mixed grill instead. Came on a huge skewer. All cooked perfect. Nice atmosphere, nice staff. Well worth a visit.

“Twice Visited”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013

Just back from a short visit to Looe and visited Smugglers Cott on friday evening. The service was very good, staff knew what their products were and very helpful. When our food arrived we were not disappointed. Lovely fish dish(ling) and steak cooked as asked for. Enjoyed so much booked for the next evening, again good service and food.
