“How a Cinema Visit Should Be.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2014

We go to Falmouth at least once a year and a visit to the Phoenix is always on our agenda.
We obviously love going to the cinema as a family, but the friendliness and charm of this particular theatre makes it stand head and shoulders above the anonymous multiplexes we are surrounded by at home.
Staff are fantastic, particularly in the cafe where they are so happy to help you - and with a smile.
Well worth a visit.

“Fantastic food, great film, good beer”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2014

Went to watch a film with family decided to grab some food in the cinema bar before the film. Ordered from the specials board, thai curry, resoto, and mushroom pasta, very surprised, the food was restaurant quality and the beer just right. All in all a really good evening.

“What films? Went for the food...! Really a hidden gem of a specials menu.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2014

Only get stuff off the specials menu if you want a treat.

I had crayfish tails and linguine and Carolyn had a risotto. Sounds ordinary but the linguine was based on a a fish stock (I can't do dairy!) and home made pesto. I'm told the risotto was pretty special too, The portions were generous. We drank a dark beer accompaniment, can't rememeber the name, and had small, single portion puds - home made involving apples, sultanas or similar, pre-soaked in wine I think, and ingrediants I can't now remember but which gave the pud a real zest (not lemon) and topped with a crumble. Lovely. And very good value

The service was uncomplicated but efficient and certainly friendly enough.

I have to declare an interest - my daughter was waitressing here at the time. I went as a duty, TBH, but the food was a very very pleasant surprise and cooked with originality and flair - If they can maintain the standard this really should be a regular visit on any trip to Falmouth. Never did see a movie though.

“Excellent quality ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2014

I worked in an independent cinema for a while before I came to study in Falmouth, this cinema is very attractive and staff are very friendly, the beverages and snacks are of a good standard as well. The cinema almost feels like a multiplex but you get that quality of an independent chain. Excellent offer of services like meals and the bar, seating is comfortable. The screens are small but sound and image quality is very high. The only query I have is with price, very much as expensive or more expensive than an odeon or cineworld cinema, But still the cinema is great and I fully recommend it!

“Eat and drink while you watch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2014

We visit the cinema when we can and always try to see a film showing in the licensed cinema section. Comfortable seats and couches with waiter service for food and drink makes this a really great evening out
