“Pleasant relaxing gardens.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

A very pleasant stroll around these interesting gardens. March, after a wet and cold winter is not the best time to visit any garden! So colour was limited, but still great trees, and I would like to come back in the summer.

“march visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2013

This is a real jem of a cornish garden, many reasons to visit this time of year as Spring comes very early to this coastline. The cammelia, treeferns primroses. all gave the banks of the valley plenty of colour, and the maze is magnificent ,brought back memories of running through looking for my children who adored playing there in yesteryear. The coastal path goes through the property as it reaches the lovely wild beach, It is a pretty steep garden , good footwear essential and the teahouse , although providing excellent goffee and food is not ideal for spring weather (open at sides and front!)

“Bit disappointed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2013

National Trust property so if you're a member it's free, as I'm not is was £6.90. Felt a bit pressured by the cashier as they asked if they could gift aid it and charge me £7.50. Didn't understand that as gift aid is usually taken off what you pay not added on, but chose to pay the regular entrance fee. The maze was a bit smaller than I expected but it was interesting. Some good parts of the garden but was a little disappointed. Maybe it's one of those places that are better in the summer months. Small cafe in there selling reasonable food and drink.

“Good starting point for access to the Helford and the coast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

Beautiful variety of walks down through this National Trust garden to Durgan village and the Helford River giving you the choice of either walking upstream or venturing out towards the coast. The maze in the gardens is a must for the more adventurous kids!

“you will be aMAZED pun intended”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

Wow what a magical place to visit makes you realise what a unique climate we have in Cornwall and how beautiful it is. Some parts are just like walking through a painting and the maze is fun, tricky and really beautiful to look at from a distance. Cafe is good and the shop is fun. We really cannot fault our visit there some of the walk is very steep tho if you have unsteady on foot people with you. A joy go you will not be disappointed
