“A gem off the beaten track !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2014

Visited with a friend & had a lovely leisurely lunch , we both had the croque Monsieur , I had the ham & friend had the salmon one, served with fries & a delicious salad followed by strawberry pavlova all cooked to order which was great as don't like food that's immediately available !
Saw a lot of food for other customers all looked equally delicious ! All,at reasonable prices & served by friendly staff !
Lovely balcony area to sit if weather sunny & excellent area for children to play in !
All in all something for all the family to enjoy :-)

“Cornish-tastic cream-tea with a side order of Jazz”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2014

I've been to the Waymarker for dinner before and was blown away, so when the suggestion to "take afternoon tea" with some light jazz, out near Gweek was proffered I knew the invitation had the Waymarker written all over it. It was a perfect way to spend an August afternoon.

Now you can't really get over excited about cream teas. They tend to vary between average and wonderful but the Waymarker has gone one better than wonderful.

The Cornish grown tea served in white china and scones served with generous/dangerous portions of homemade jam and clotted cream, are not what I'm talking about. Nor am I thinking of the Cornish slate plates on which the scones cascade. In fact it was the gluten free offerings which included scrumptious butternut squash scones. Unbelievably delicious.

It's so nice to see the traditional Cornish spoiling is not restricted to the gluten tollerant. Proper job - lovely!

“Highly Recommended.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2014

We stayed nearby and had our first (and best) meal in Cornwall here, Beautiful food in a lovely, relaxed setting with very friendly service. So good, we returned again and found the food and service was just as good on our second visit. From a personal point of view, I prefer to eat a little later than the 6pm closing, although I believe The Waymarker stays open later at weekends, We will definitely return when we're next in Cornwall.

“Fab cream tea and dog friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2014

This restaurant does amazing cream teas. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. We phoned in advance as we were looking for somewhere we could go with our dog to get out of the rain! They were more than happy for us to bring him and have a covered area outside. The service was excellent and the cream tea was amazing. All in all, an extremely enjoyable experience.
