“rubbish and overpriced holiday by alfa travel.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2010

The journey from Tamworth was terrible on a very old caoch that was not fit for such a long journey no air conditioning ,seats that were faulty, and very cramped and school bus sign in the rear window. The Hotel was not too bad. The room was a little small but the view was good,Dirty towels were put back on towel rail to be reused until we spoke to reception to change them. The hotel was generally clean and service good,The dining room was clean and the waitress service excellent but the meals were not very good, they had no eggs for breakfast on the tuesday,my wife ordered scrambled egg on wednesday when it arrived it had a greeny colour which she could not eat,On friday they ran out of fruit crumble desert they said it was because our coachparty were the last sitting for evening meals also the vegetables on most days were stewed due to our coach party being the last served

This was a nice hotel, good food, nice room and right by the beach, what more could you want? Tea, coffee and milk were always plentiful and kept topped up in the bedroom. We were with an Alfa coach tour and the trips and our driver were excellent, mind you, the beautiful weather that we had made a lot of difference to the places we were taken to.
The staff in the restaurant worked very hard and were very efficient. The evening entertainment was more than we could hope for considering the price of the holiday. Everywhere was spotlessly clean though a little dated, and there was always plenty of hot water. Brilliant!

We found the Hotel to be clean and the staff efficient and friendly. It has a good location on the sea front but is in a quiet area. The meals were what you would expect from a 2 star hotel, plain and simple but a good variety and very fast service considering it was full most of the time in our five days there. We did have a back room that faced a brick wall but the room itself was fine. There was light entertainment most evenings but we prefered to walk around the town or along the seafront .

I would give almost 100% for this hotel. We were part of a coach group and for the first time ever, had single rooms with sea views leading on to a balcony, usually we look at a brick wall or a car park! Rooms nice and clean.

The staff were excellent and well trained. The food was good, it was hot and plates were also hot, and the staff worked at an amazingly fast rate.

There was Bingo for those who wanted it and some musical entertainment. My only gripe was that my mattress was rather uncomfortable and a bit old and tired, others had no complaints.

The hotel overlooks the bay with spectacular sunrises and sunsets. It has a few steep steps to the front door but I believe there is disabled access at the rear. The road outside is extremely quiet and seldom used, making the nights very peaceful. A very nice promenade to stroll along with pretty gardens at the end. The town is a 15 minute stroll down a steep hill but there are half hourly buses. Plenty to see and do with many shops, good boat trips and the National Maritime Museum. Recommend for all but patrons were generally of an older generation.
