“A Real Cornish Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2013 via mobile

We have just returned from a fantastic weekend in Cornwall staying at Sixteen Falmouth . We booked this B+B as a base whilst visiting the University Open Day .
Sharon, the owner gave us a really warm welcome .. Even baking the nicest Lemon Drizzle cake I have ever tasted !!!
Our room was spotless , warm and inviting with a wonderful on suite . We also had the use of an adjoining twin should we need it. Large kingsize bed, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, sweets and oat biscuits flat screen TV. Lovely bedding and furnishings all topped off our beautiful room.
The full Cornish breakfast was amazing .. Along with fresh fruit salad .. Toast .. Yoghurts .. .etc.
The house itself is just gorgeous .. A really calming tranquil atmosphere ... Candles .. Piano .. And fab artwork . The location is great only 5/10 min walk into Falmouth and within easy reach of both Uni campus's .
We would highly recommend Sixteen Falmouth and can't wait to return .Thank you again for making our stay so enjoyable.

Had to go down to Falmouth for a visit to our son at uni, stayed here again, we have lost count now how many times we stay at Sixteen, I think this was seven, you will be pleased you chose Sixteen, Sharon is always there to greet you with her smile and tea and cakes, even got Justin to do some work when he is about, This is only the best B&B in the country along with Sharon's Friend's one which is also in Falmouth, If you think I am making it up try it, you will not be disappointed. Also has a wounderfull two bedroom bit for families of four, The place is spot less and if you want a night in Just ask. They have a wounderfull Lounge to relax in with the wood burner and sherry too. Thank you so much Sharon & Justin see you in the New Year.

Very nice B and B with very caring, proactive and thoughtful owner. The little touches make the difference - cake in the afternoon, a sherry if you want - recommended walks etc etc.

TOP TIP If coming from the east along Western Avenue the 'Sixteen' sign is quite recessive and easy to miss - if coming from the west it's even harder to see, so drive slowly!

My family and I have just got back from a weeks stay at Sixteen Falmouth, and as you can tell from the title it was amazing.

This is the first summer the property has been let out for holiday rentals, and I am sure it will be the first of many. Sharon is one of the nicest owners you could ever hope to meet, and will more than go out of her way to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible, the cream tea's on arrival was a lovely touch!

The house is incredibly spacious, and as a family of 7 it was ideal. There are 4 double bedrooms, 2 en-suite, and a twin room, all superbly decorated to a very high standard, very clean and modern. The 2 en-suites have showers, and there is a large bathroom downstairs with a very nice bath.

The kitchen is massive, has all the appliances you could need, a large breakfast table, dishwasher, TV, huge oven, large fridge/freezer, and again really is very well designed and decorated. It was more than comfortable for all 7 of us to eat breakfast together in, before a long days exploring.

There is a very large garden out the back, extremely well cared for, small table and chairs on the decking outside the patio doors, and a larger table down on the patio, which really is enjoyable in the sun. There is also a small BBQ outside too.

There is a very nice and large lounge, and next to this is the dining room, which is one of the nicest rooms in the house, and one we spent a lot of time in.

There is a decent sized car park out the front, will fit 3 cars comfortably and as Sharon will tell you it is much easier to reverse in and drive out, it is also safer as Western Terrace is a busy road, especially on change over Saturday. The car park at the front is quite tight to turn around in, if there are other cars parked in it, which is why it is recommended to back in and drive out.

The house has a very good location, on the main road in and out of Falmouth. Walking in to Falmouth town is quite straight forward, we turned left out of the drive, up to the round about and then right down Killigrew street, which takes you straight down into the town. It is a decent 10-15 minute walk going down the hill, allow longer to walk back up! which certainly burns off your dinner (and drinks).

If you plan on taking the train anywhere, turn left out of the drive and go to Penmere station, about a 7-10 minute walk from the house. It is so much easier than walking down to Falmouth town station, which is probably about 20 minutes downhill from the house, and again a lot longer walking back up, and it is all uphill on the way back up!

Sharon makes sure you have all the basic supplies on your arrival, and you have a bit of choice in terms of supermarkets in the area. There is a Sainsbury's about 5 minutes drive away, but to be honest this is quite disappointing and quite small. I'd recommend driving a bit further, along the A39 Penryn bypass, and go to Asda, it is 24 hours and it really is a superstore, you can get everything you need, and the prices work out better too.

I personally couldn't find a fault at all with staying here, and I know my family all feel the same. We loved our week here and didn't want to come home at all! Sharon goes out of her way to make the house seem like a home from home, and it certainly ticks every box!

Hopefully this review is helpful, you certainly won't regret staying here, and you won't want to leave!

We stayed here for two nights in order to attend a wedding in St Mawes.

From the moment I booked, the service was second to none.

The B&B is lovely, cosy, welcoming and clean. You are welcomed with tea/coffee (ir a sherry if you fancy it) and freshly made cake - amazing! Our room was decorated to high standard and was very comfortable with a lovely ensuite.

The best bit about our stay, however, was the amazing breakfast - a wide choice and beautifully cooked.

The owners are so friendly and helpful; for us Sixteen is by far the best B&B in Falmouth - we highly recommend it.

This is definitely the best B & B we have ever stayed in! From the warm welcome, lovely bright and sunny home, beautiful bedroom with luxurious toiletries and every creature comfort we could think of. Breakfast was fantastic too!! Would love to go back soon.

Room Tip: At the back overlooking the garden with distant view of the sea.

Well if your looking for a relaxing, welcoming stay in a clean and stylish B and B you can't get better IMO in Falmouth. We stayed in B&B nearly 2years ago (only couple of days) and owner still remembered us and friends. Wow ....... Lovely clean room, owner very friendly and breakfast cooked to order.
We will defo go back :)
