“What a gem!”

We have stayed at many holiday cottages over the years, but this one would be hard to beat! Acorn Cottage is beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable - it was a lovely place to return to after a day out exploring the area. It is also very well equipped - it certainly had everything we needed during our stay.
The village has very good shops which we used a lot - the butchers in particular is excellent. We ate at The Lemon Arms which is just a couple of minutes up the road, and also The Pandora Inn, which took around 15 minutes to walk to (longer on the way back due to the hill!!). Both serve good food. .
Although we went out most days, there is so much to see in this pretty part of Cornwall that we will have to come back for another visit!

“A fantastic cottage - the perfect base for a Cornish break”

The cottage is in a wonderful location, with a garden to sit in for fine weather, and a stove to sit by in Winter. The owners of this cottage have thought of everything, no need to pack sharp knives and a corkscrew, as it so often the case.

Make sure you visit the village butcher. He makes the BEST cornish pasties EVER!

I'm sure we'll be visiting again soon!

“Simply superb, can't Waite to return”

We stayed at acorn cottage in the depths of winter for the first time and it was an absolute delight, the interior decor has had a huge amount of thought put into it, and is far more like a holiday cottage of twice the price we stayed in 6 months earlier, if only we had known about acorn before! It was lovely and cosy too and the log burner was a real bonus. The village is quite delightfull too, and I can highly recommend the local pub for an evening meal ( good beer too) close to some lovely beeches and an easy drive to Falmouth, which is well worth a day out

Sentence sums it up. A lovely little cottage to rent with a pretty garden to sit out in. Easy walking distance to Mylor Bridge where there are excellent shops.

“Perfect dream holiday accommodation”

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely property. There was everything there we wanted. Enjoyed our breakfasts in the bright kitchen with its colourful decor. The view from the shower was beautiful. We watched 3 dvd's from the selection provided one windy wet day, hadn't watched that many for ages. The nearby village of Mylor bridge had good shops & pub. Went to the pandora inn many times & never had a bad meal. Would stay at acorn cottage again without hesitation.

“Top quality accommodation in idyllic coastal community with good local shops for a truly relaxing holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2013 for a stay in September 2011

Acorn Cottage is a comfortable and beautifully appointed holiday cottage that feels more like home than somewhere you are renting.

A cosy wood burning stove is at the heart of the house, in a room flooded with light from a handsome and generous bay window. The kitchen is well-equipped, clean, and thoughtfully laid out with extras such as an area to hang coats in a porch and a large cupboard housing useful extras like an iron and ironing board and clothes pegs for the washing.

Upstairs, the two rooms are tastefully furnished. The master bedroom looks out over the little harbour and a village green while the twin bedded room looks over a field that, while we stayed there, was home to a particularly friendly pony. The bathroom has a good shower, a heated towel rail, and plenty of space and light.

Outside the pretty garden is a very pleasant place to sit and eat - even later in the autumn. There are many walks and drives from Acorn Cottage. So many that, despite having stayed there three times, there is still more we want to go to see!

Try the butcher's pasties and you'll have to take some home with you for the freezer!

We had a really lovely time at the cottage, loved the area, and would thoroughly recommend a stay at Acorn Cottage.
