“A beautiful walk or cycle”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2013 via mobile

The camel trail is ideal for all ages including pets. The trail can be walked or cycled. Bikes can be hired out and cater for all ages. Me and the family decided to walk from Padstow to Wadebridge and return. its certainly a long walk but the views and the experience of completing it is worthwhile.

“Great place for Adults and Kids”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2013

Started at Padstow with my wife daughter and grandson had a leisurely ride to Wadebridge stopping on the way for a drink and an ice cream from the 2 guys who are there every day, good prices and friendly service. Had lunch in Wadebridge at the Swan Inn (think that was its name) a look round the shops and then back to Padstow. It was very busy as the schools are on holiday but it was a nice ride with great scenery as you ride alongside the river. Great for children of all ages
Finished off with a walk around Padstow harbour. In all a great day out. Well worth doing. If you are feeling a bit fitter try going on to Bodmin as well.

“A good day- spoiled by Padstow Cycle Hire's incorrect map”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2013

We have used the trail before and would do so again. However this time we hired from Padstow Cycle Hire. We would not again. The bikes were fine. We did not want to go too far and relied upon the map we were given. BEWARE it is wrong! It may not sound like a big deal but as my wife and I separated to match the varied speeds of our children we agreed to meet up at the Camel Trail Tea Room between Wadebridge and Bodmin. Due to the map being completely wrong we ended up losing each other for an hour and doing far more mileage than expected. Not only is the tearoom location wrong (it is nearly all the way to Bodmin) but the vineyard location too. When I raised this with the tearoom the reaction was 'Yes, we've told them about this several weeks ago'. And the reaction when I raised it back at the base in Padstow? 'Yes we know it's wrong but we printed 50,000 so we can't change them all'. That really is very poor customer service. And to cap it all they have not even changed the map on the internet! I suggest you use the free independently produced map if you can get one and use another company for your hire.

“An excellent day out.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

This is a fantastic trail and certainly suitable for younger children as the part we cycled was quite flat (Padstow to just outside Wadebridge). Bought an ice cream from Treats on Trikes a couple of miles north of Wadebridge on the trail and were served by 2 very nice chaps. This is a well recommended stop.
Parking in Wadebridge is better if you are bringing your own bikes with a tow bar rack as the spaces aren't long enough. There are a couple of spaces with space behind which they have squeezed in two more parking spaces, though how anyone would park in them is a mystery, though don't use them as room for your bike rack (as we found out the hard way).
Though have to add that this didn't ruin the day in the slightest. We'll definitely be back!

“The way to go”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2013

The Camel trail is brilliant for a day out. Either start from Bodmin or Wadebridge and end up in Padstow. I park at Dunmere behind the pub which is free. Park your bike at Padstow and walk up and around to the beach or get the foot ferry to Rock. Ideal in this sunny weather. No hills so easy ride.
