“Just what we were looking for”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2014

We needed an overnight stop on our way from Surrey to North Wales. Location was ideal, husband and wife hosts were very attentive and helpful - suggestions of where we could eat and things to do. Breakfast was 'full' and good. Tea and coffee making facilities in our room, which was comfortable/ We would recommend this as very good value and would be happy to visit again

Comfortable stay and nice breakfast. The location is excellent for accessing Chester and it's attractions. I have rated average as I think the price paid for the room, the size of the bathroom and the final time for breakfast of 8.45am-9.00am leave something to be desired. There are many other B&Bs along the road and I would be inclined to try these to make a fair comparison. Bed was comfortable, the room was spot less with towels of a good size, the owner was also friendly and helpful but these are all things I would expect from somewhere rated as 4 star.

Many thanks for your very cool feedback. Anyway we really enjoyed your company and are glad you found our rooms spotlessly clean and the towels large and fluffy. Our bathroom offers a large shower cubicle, WC and wash basin. We would of course encourage you to try some of the other B&B's along Hoole Road to fairly compare what we include for all our guests which is complimentary guaranteed car parking of one car park space per room booked, complimentary secure fast WiFi and discounts to Chester Zoo and Cheshire Oaks. We do take all comments very seriously and do hope that you find something more to your liking on Hoole Road.

We have just returned from a three night stay at Chester Brooklands B&B Remina gave us a warm welcome and explained everything to us regarding pre ordering breakfast - which was a good system and there was plenty of choice.
The room was warm and comfortable, very clean and more than enough electric sockets - something that a lot of places lack! On the first morning Mark apologised for not turning our radiator on the previous day in preparation for us - but to be honest the room was warm and didn't need any heating until later in the evening, so this wasn't a problem to us. Towels are changed on alternate days which again is more frequent than other establishments we have stayed in. Mark and Remina and the young lady helping them were very friendly and happy to chat and help without being intrusive. If visiting the area again we would definitely try to stay here as it's within walking distance to the city centre and bus stops a few yards away.

This B & B is ideally located to walk into Chester (about fifteen minutes) or there is a bus into Chester centre a few yards away every 12-15 minutes during the day. It also has pubs and restaurants on the doorstep if you wish to stay closer to home for the evening which are excellent would recommend the Faulkner pub and The Lodge within the Hoole village area. David and Remina were very welcoming and extremely helpful, the room was comfortable and the breakfast well cooked, presented and good quality although you did have to pre-order this the night before and choice of fresh fruit and/or yoghurt limited. We would stay here again and will recommend it to friends and family

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are very quiet, if going up stairs is a problem then check beforehand as rooms are...

I stayed here at the weekend with my Husband and parents. The location was pefect coming off the motorway and very easy to find, with parking on the drive way. Remina welcomed us and was very friendly and informative, giving us local places to eat and offering to help us with our visit to Chester the following day. The B&B is located about a 15 minute walk into the city walls, but also has a few shops and dining options within a 5-minute walk, so was perfect.

The rooms were homely and clean, although could defintely do with a bit of a touch up in some places (nothing a lick of paint wouldn't solve). The bathroom was small and the shower noisy - but, again, it was fine for our needs so no complaints. The bed was comfortable (altough could have done with extra pillows) and the tea and coffee making facilities in the room were welcomed. One thing I would note is that the walls are quite thin, which I guess you 'd expect for this sort of property - so, we could hear the person snoring in the room next to us, and my parents below us could hear every creak of our floorboards.

Breakfast was tasty and very generous, with plenty on offer.

All in all, it was a nice, friendly, well-located, family-run B&B which we would certianly recommend and stay at again.

Hi and thank you for your feedback. Our Victorian property has thick walls but as like any property I can only imagine that there must have been a person with a very loud snore - sorry about that. The showers are quite normal power showers with no typical loud pump on them so I am not sure about that comment really. All our rooms have extra pillows and they are indicated on the drawer where they are located and also indicated in the very useful information booklet located in each of our rooms. So pleased you enjoyed our local village with an abundance of bars, good restaurants and shops. It was lovely having you stay with us and we do wish you a very Merry Christmas.

This B & B is ideally located for an easy walk into Chester (about fifteen minutes). Alternatively there is a bus into Chester centre a few yards away running every twelve minutes. It also has pubs and restaurants on the doorstep if you wish to stay closer to home for the evening. The owners were very welcoming, the room was comfortable and the breakfast filling. We would like to stay here again and will recommend it to friends and family
