Ate here for the first time this evening having always been impressed by the other Brunning & Price pub/restairants in the area. Beatufully refurbished building, tastefully decorated with lots of nooks and crannies. We had a table in one of the smaller restaurant rooms in the orginal part of the building. Very busy for a Sunday evening, perhaps not unsurprisingly for the Christmas/New Year period. Service a little slow and some of the waiting staff seemed a bit unsure of themselves, but no doubt forgiveable in the early days after opening.
Good choice of draught beers. Interesting menu, and well cooked and presented, but my starter could have been warmer and my main course, Spiced Lamb whilst very tasty was not exactly substantial. Morevover, although advertised to be served with couscous, it was actually accompanied by what appeared to be pearl barley .
Would give it seven out of ten at this stage, but I am sure they will overcome early teething problems and it will quickly become one of the most popular eating and drinking locations in Chester. Will definitely give it another try.
