“Mad is the word”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012 via mobile

I had been here a couple of times and been impressed - but third time unlucky. I raved about it to two friends and made them go but it was terrible. One meal was burnt with missing ingredients. It was returned and replaced but still burnt the second time. The waitress was so rude about the situation and pulled faces about us in full view of us and other customers. It was such a shame and the service was unprofessional!

“Would go back. Lovely!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2012 via mobile

Had a tasty cheese and home Made tomato chutney sandwich, along with a delicious chocolate and caramel cupcake. Decorated as a cute reindeer. Atmosphere in the tea room was lovely and there was a good, interesting choice on the menu.

Only down side is that the toilet was freezing and quite bare

“Sweet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2012

Quirky little tea room. Had a cherry and almond cupcake with the creamiest, yummiest frosting accompanied by a hot chocolate with rose syrup - absolutely divine and original. Very friendly waitress, enjoyed immensely.

Great afternoon tea with cava just what we needed after shopping :)
Was very busy even for a small restaurant on the first floor hidden away glad we booked in advance and the staff were very friendly.

“You'd be as mad as a hatter to miss the experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2012

Whilst on a trip to Chester my friend and I decided to celebrate our successful Christmas shopping by indulging ourselves with the Red Queen's tea, an assortment of delicious small sandwiches, lovely little cakes, a choice of cupcake, the obligatory tea and a glass of champagne. The menus were in woooden folders with the 'Alice' theme throughout, there was a very tempting array of different afternoon tea choices as well as the more obvious choice of scones, cake etc; there also seemed a good choice of old fashioned tea time treats for children too. The service was first class, efficient but friendly and although the price reflected the indulgence it was far better value than an afternoon tea in a 'posh' hotel. Certainly a memorable teatime treat...but just as suitable I would think for coffee and cake. Whatever... you would be, as I said, as mad as a hatter to miss these tearooms.
