“Our bbq pod stay ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2014

As a treat we decided to take our children away for the night in one of those bbq pods we booked though the Internet easy enough arrived at check in time which is 2 o'clock .This place is amazing staff very helpful its such a clean pleace no rubbish anywhere we where shown to our little pod and ya there little but big enough for what you want to do the kids loved this.we had our own little lake with ducks on it was the best campsite by far. Bar is brilliant and reasonably priced little park for kids also a great idea the only little down side was we did have to wait well over an 1hour for 2 breakfasts they do work very hard in the cafe but over an hour waiting was a bit much when we had 2 hugrey kids but hey really enjoyed it when it did finally arrive.

Spent 3 nights here (only planned on staying for two nights) with my wife and 2 kids. Facilities are excellent in lovely surroundings. The bar and café on site are very reasonably priced and the whole area is well maintained and cleaned regularly. The staff on site are very friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for us. If ever you want to try fishing and are complete novices (like us) then John will be only to happy to give you professional instruction and there's also a shop on site to hire tackle and purchase bait etc. Will definitely be going back soon.

stayed for just 1 night in a pod whilst men stayed all night fishing, had a great day, weather was perfect, huge camping field which we went on to have fun with ball games etc. pod was ideal as im not a tent person myself, felt very safe, warm and cosy. Found the café and bar very reasonably priced. everywhere was perfectly clean and staff very polite. manager even came to our pod to blow up our air beds, he was very helpful and couldn't do enough for us, thankyou. We will defenitly be returning in the very near future with extended family for a longer stay.

This was our first time camping (14th june 2014), we took our 5 children with us, and I cannot fault this place, Very clean site, Toilets clean and didn't run out of toilet roll which was a fear for me as I didn't take any with us ha Showers and wash station also very clean, infact I didn't notice any litter around the whole site!,The management came to our tent twice to ask if everything was ok, which I found added a personal touch and was nice, Will definitely be back in the next few weeks! If you have children and its a hot day, stick Sandy lane park in your sat nav and get down there, out door spray water park right on the river dee and is only 4.5 miles away oh and its free, just remember to take a towel.

i have been meaning to do this for some time.
first visit to Chester Lakes was summer 2012, unfortunately could not make it last year but already planning another visit for this year.
very good facilities and washroom/shower areas kept clean and regularly checked.
the staff were helpful and friendly but pretty much left us to ourselves during the 5 day trip, it was good to know that they were available on site.
we stayed in a tent with an electric hook-up just off the banks of one of the small ponds, nice and secluded and a great sun-trap, there was plenty of room for the pitch and all for a very reasonable price.
log cabins are also available and good value if more than 3 people.
fished on 3 of the lakes, all were catching well, pole and pellet looked the best technique to use.
situated within a few minutes walk of a pub, there are also shops and places to eat not very far away.

Room Tip: could get very hot in middle of summer, find somewhere that offers some shade if camping.

Have stayed here now twice and definitely will again. Recently spent 2 nights here and all of my extended family love the place. Clean and tidy, staff on hand at all times (24/ 7, Johnny the manager what a guy!).
Would definitely recommend all the family, camping, fishing, relaxing and adventure assault course. People have asked me how to get there and I have no hesitation in stating the above.
Try it yourselves, you will love it, viva Chester Lakes, well done Alec Pickering......

We stayed here a couple of times last year and had a nice time, but this year was much better, seemed more organised and the facilities although still basic they were much cleaner. Last year we stayed on the back field but this year we stayed round by the lakes, lovely setting with great views and wild life. There was always staff around If you needed anything and the prices at the shop, bar and cafe were quite reasonable. Not a fisher myself but still very relaxing a great place for families too.
