Stayed at the hotel for 2 nights with my sister for a relaxing spa break. After visiting multiple spas, we chose to stay at this hotel as a new spa opened in September this year.
Could not fault the hotel, I have stayed in 4* and 5* hotels with work and this hotel beats many of them. Rooms clean and comfortable, food in both Nelsons bar and Ciros Brasserie - Excellent along with the staff. (Particular mention to Ruth, Duty Manager)
We booked a number of treatments at the Karma Spa and were very much looking forward to them. They were indeed fabulous and the therapists also. There was a breakdown in communication between the main reception and the spa reception over a simple request we had placed during our stay which was not resolved. The times that I had chosen for treatments had been changed and we weren't informed, however, we did receive our treatments at a later time. We were told by the spa manager that we would receive tea - we are still waiting. Heated seat in Rasul was not working and also jacuzzi was not working for the two days we were there. This was intended to be a relaxing break and we were certainly not as relaxed as we had hoped when we left. I know this spa is newly opened, but please, there was no excuse for the poor handling of our request. We found the spa manager very rude and it was apparent that she underwent no customer service training. The attention to detail is lacking severely. It may operate more smoothly if managed correctly.
I am disappointed to have marked my overall experience down, but all things taken into consideration during our stay, and comparing the experience with the spa to others we have enjoyed, then this is a fair representation of how we felt upon departing.
