“Lovely space, with Romans!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2013

This is a well maintained and accessible green space on the edge of walled Chester, and a very nice place to spend a pleasant hour or so, eating ice cream, enjoying the flowers,in the summer, or feeding the very friendly squirrels any time of the year. The space is used for open air theatre in the summer, and has hosted the wonderful invasion by large numbers of Romans each May, as part of the MBNA Chestival season - fantastic entertainment, lots of historical information, and all free! You can use the park as a cut through from the city centre down to the river, or enjoy it for itself. The little railway is great fun for smaller children.

“Simple park, don't forget to bring food for the squirrels”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

Well established park , that is often the setting for events in chester. Lovely walk around in he autumn and snow with views over the river. Bring a bag of monkey nuts and he squirrels will comeup to you and eat from your hand. Also a popular railway for kids to ride on.

“Probably better enjoyed during the summer!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013

I imagine this would be a nice place to hang out or go for a stroll during the summer, although there's nothing really distintive about it. Our visit was during a cold, drizzly day during January. The place was deserted except for some intimidating youths playing loud awful music, so we didn't feel like hanging about for too long!
