We booked before hand and the restaurant was very busy. The high ceilings and beams are beautiful. Its a laid back and cosy atmosphere.
For starter myself and my husband shared locally baked bread loaf which was so fresh and light served with balsamic and olive oil - great size as most places give you a small portion of bread. We also shared the sausage sampler which was ok just fairly small only had about 5 cocktail sized sausages each.
For Main i had gammon which had a lovely char grilled flavour with thick cut chips which were very nice. My husband had a rib eye steak rare with peppercorn sauce. He said the steak was the nicest he has had in a ages.
This was our first visit and overall was fantastic. Only a couple of minor down falls. The first waitess lost our drinks order so another waitress had to re take it.There was no butter with our bread by the time it eventually arrived we had nearly finished the bread. The peppercorn sauce was quite thin although saying that it was extremely tasty. I would of loved to have been able to order the pie off the lunch number but the waitress said they had none left.
Again these are only minor things and we have recommended to family and friends and will be back.
