“The great outdoors”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2014

I took my rambling group to walk the sandstone trail. As some are in their 80s we did it in 6 sections. We are planning to do it again backwards this time. That's the route backwards not us walking backwards. There is lots to see and the scenery is constantly changing.

“Where's the beach?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

Once when I was on the Sandstone Trail a girl said to me, "Where's the beach?" Since then I've walked nearly all of the trail and loved it. Some great pubs too - notably the Sandstone.

“Cheshire countryside on view.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Some excellent walks, well signposted. You are able to do as much or as little as you want. This particular time we parked at the Pheasant and had a drink, doing a circular walk and returning there for an excellent meal.

“Trip to Heaven.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

I completed a 10 mile section of the Sandstone Trail Yesterday, June 19th 2013. The section from Beeston Castle to Rawhead. Parking by the castle is £3 per car. Take a quarter mile walk behind the castle grounds, on the left hand side as you face the castle. Then follow the path to a road, cross the road and join the footpath close to Tabernacle Cottage. walk for about half a mile. There is a field devoted to meadow flowers near the Tabernacle Cottage entrance to the footpath and it is spectacular. It will lift your spirit to heights you wouldn't believe. GO SOON.

“A really good walk, worth the effort.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013

Walk this path from Frodsham. To Whitchurch, excellent walk. Varied scenery, moderate difficulty, couple of good pub detours on the vary, especially, the Pheasant at Burwardsley. Really enjoyed the experience.
