“Zoomazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2014

Went to Chester Zoo on Monday 4th August. Although the park is quite expensive to get in it's well worth it fantastic selection of animals to look at.
Well worth taking a picnic as the prices for food and drink inside the park are very expensive.
As in other reviews the park is very large so will take you around 5 hours to walk round.

“Wonderful, brilliant zoo, must visit.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2014

Been visiting chester zoo for the last 3 years, always visit during the summer holidays. We absolutely LOVE this zoo. Always go for 10am for opening.

The animals, what can I say? They are just magnificent to watch you can tell they are well looked after, all the enclosures are clean and well kept. I could spend all day watching the elephants. After visiting for 3 years in a row we finally got to see the jaguars, I've never been so excited to a see an animal before.
Spent about 5 1/2 hours looking around and always feel like we didn't fit everything in.

Zoo extremely clean alway see staff walking around and picking up any litter that may be lying around.

It can be a little pricey having to go on monorail and boat ride and buy food from cafés but in my honest opinion I don't mind paying as it's only once a year we visit.

“Excellent, family day out!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2014

Some recent reviews stated that there were issues with the zoo. I saw no evidence of anything looking worn, well used perhaps, but not worn.

The variety of species on show is fantastic and their habitats are, on the whole, well designed and interesting.

My 3 year old loved it, although he ran out of steam with all the walking and we hired a buggy. Whilst six pound is a bit pricey, the buggy, which looked like a safari vehicle, was a huge hit and became part of the fun.

Food and drink is a bit pricey, but you can bring your own and there are lots of places to picnic.

We walked everywhere and didn't use the monorail, which seemed expensive at two pound per adult.

The fossil dig is £3.50, which I thought steep at first, but my son loved it. The attendant made the experience, he was helpful and explained the fossils well. My son will treasure the six tiny fossils he got to keep!

I noticed comments on the photographers. Yes, they are at main attractions and may simply tell you where to stand for a picture, assuming you want one, but a polite "No thank you," sufficied.

Whilst aspects are expensive, all the money is poured back into the work the zoo does, unlike any number of equally expensive theme parks.

“Something different at every turn!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2014

A great day out.
You start with the elephants coming out for the day, very active and two year old elephants having fun like any youngsters!
The fruit bat cave was a wonderful experience, with bats flying about you, amazing.
I thought overall the zoo was very clean, the gift shop sold items for lots of price ranges. Food was reasonable and good.
