“Such a hidden gem!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2011

This little cafe has wonderful staff and wonderful food. If you are looking for a place that is value for money and serves good food with attentive staff then this is the place to go! They do a decent breakfast, paninis, baked potatoes and wonderful cakes - try their scones and clotted cream!!!

“Great little independent cafe with freshly cooked food, and gluten free friendly too!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2011

We went on recommendation with some friends on our last visit to Chester and we've just been again. Very friendly and welcoming and they seem to have a large group of regular customers, which is always a good sign.It was certainly very busy. It looks small from the outside but there is a back area and we also noticed that there was work going on outside which when we asked, we were told was going to be outside seating, but non smoking.

We had great food again, I had a grilled artichoke, olive and feta salad which was to die for, I ordered a small bowl of soup to start, which was an unusual combination of roasted onion with crumbled goat's cheese, it sounded so interesting I just had to have it and it was delicious. My husband had eggs Benedict which he said was excellent with home roasted ham.
Our friend says she comes regularly as the food is always good and it's all freshly prepared. She has to follow a gluten free diet and they always have gluten free bread and gluten free biscuits etc. This time they even had a home made gluten free cake, she was very excited!!
They sell a small amount of wine but it's not a feature, just a few small bottles available, oh yes and vey very nice Baileys Hot Chocolate!
Also, our friend's little girl with us and she was well catered for, not only food wise but with drawing pencils and a colouring picture which she then opted to have put on their wall by the door with is dedicated to customer kids colouring!
The only down side is that they are cash only but there are plenty ATMs near as it is in the city centre.
