We have eaten here a number of times and love the place ( previous review was 5 *) but the last visit was disappointing. We ordered toasted sandwiches ( brie, bacon and cranberry ) with salad and had a long wait , although 2 people who came in after us got their food before us. I got the impression that the girl making them had forgotten our food and although I asked specifically for white bread, the sandwich came on brown bread. I also had to ask for condiments even though others were given them with their meal. I asked about the soup as well which was shown as Parsnip and Apple and was told bluntly " Oh no it's not that one, it's something else, I'm not sure".
The food was good as usual and the cakes as always are to die for. We had a delicious, fat and moist lemon cake to finish which came in a huge slice. Will probably return but the lack of the usual good service may make us try somewhere else next time.
