Having just got back from this hotel i thought i would let people know my findings.
Firstly most of my party said their rooms were on the small side to which i can also confirm having had 2 single rooms during my stay.
In my first room the shower door was broken and i was unadle to flush the toilet unless i waved the flush up and down fast around 15 times.
On day 2 in the morning i reported this to reception and took our party out for the day.
On return i was expecting to have the said problems repaired, unfortunately they were not. When i asked at reception i was told they had had a major problem that day and the maintainence guy had now left so i was offered a second room.
I took the offer and found the room again small for what it was but managable for my needs of just requiring somewhere to sleep.
On using the shower i found that as much water went upwards as it did down. My bathroom was soaked so luckily there was extra towels there to mop up the water. ( it did make me wonder why there had been 2 hand and 2 bath towels on the rail in a single room, now i knew why)
There is very little noise dampening between rooms as after a wedding do there was some very amourous ladies in the rooms around me till way into the early hours and i kept getting woken up. (Being a coach driver and needing my sleep this wasnt good)
The TV pictures in both the rooms was awful, mostly snowy but on times unwatchable and a very small amount of channels to choose from and hardly any on their correct numbers.
The restaurant..... Although breakfast was a buffet style it was very good well turned over and warm.
Plenty on display for a hearty meal both from the hot and cold selection.
The evening meals left alot to be desired, I could not eat my meal one evening and actually ordered Pizza from up the road. It may have just been my taste but as i live with a chef i know how food should taste like and this wasnt to my liking.
The staff at the hotel were fantastic in the fact they were extremely friendly, polite and was quick to offer a second room.
Parking here is non existent as they have no outside grounds around the hotel but there is a big car park around the back that charges £3.50 per day upto midnight so if your parking overnight you have to pay £7.00. There is some parking on the street (free for 1 hour) upto 6.00pm then free overnight till 8.00 am.
Overall Cheep and cheerful. Good staff but the actual hotel lets THEM down
