We stayed at this hotel for one night whilst visiting an evening meet of Chester Races. Hotel is very close to station but noise from trains, passengers etc is not an issue. The check-in was quite speedy and the staff were pleasant enough. As we approached our room the couple in the adjacent room were trying to get hold of a fan as their room was very warm. On entering our room we immediately noticed the intense heat despite a window having been left open. I have to confess we didn't complain, it was a hot day and we knew it would be late on our return and we thought the room would have chilled a bit by then.Unfortunately we were wrong, sleep was hard to come by as the room was so warm. The room itself was fine, the bathroom was small with a sloped ceiling above the toilet giving it a bit of a claustrophobic feel. The only other comment I would make is that access to this hotel after a certain time (we were not advised of the time on check-in) is via a bell to attract a night porter, we pressed the bell twice before he attended, not in itself an unreasonable response but the area immediately outside the hotel on this particular night was awash with drunken males living up to stereotypical drunken behaviour and it was an uncomfortable few minutes to wait before we gained access.
