“Lovely food but small portions”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013 via mobile

6 of us had Sunday dinner. Food delicious and may have filled some but I could have eaten a bit more! Good service and nice location. Cheese board divine!

“£3.75 for a bottle of beer!!!! London prices???”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013

My first visit here. Lovely decor, spotlessly clean, good staff, with beautifully presented and tasty food. We had a table in the window overlooking the racecourse, or, yesterday overlooking a mini music festival. All very positive. However when lunch arrived i was surprised at the very small portions. I had ordered the steak sandwich - this was a small ciabatta with 4 tiny slices of steak, a few caramelised onions plus a small spoonful of salad - cost £10.50 - with a tiny portion of chips to share (£3.00). Our friend ordered the special lunch - this also looked delicious, but again, the portions were very small (£12.50 for two courses). Verdict - a lovely place but overpriced.

The ladies lavatory - spotlessly clean, but on the negative side, I used the middle cubicle and was surprised to discover no holder for the lavatory paper but the paper in a stainless steel container on the floor - stylish but surely unhygienic? The hand drier is slow, largely ineffective and should be replaced.

“Sloppy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

Given the exclusive setting and menu I was slightly disappointed about the whole visit. Can't really fault the food but when you are paying £30 for a steak you do expect the staff to be a little more attentive. Each drinks order we made was incorrect and even harder to change, the last order we made we actually just accepted what was put in front of us because it was easier than changing it back ! I asked for a roof terrace seat I think it was closed - only around 4 tables in use very little atmosphere. Expensive bill for 4 people in a place with very little attention to detail and very little atmosphere. Maybe we just picked the wrong day to visit but I won't be trying it a second time. Beautiful views across the racecourse - only bonus of the night really.
