“A Nice Surprise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2013

A non-chain restaurant in central Cambridge...as rare as a Man United fan in Salford. Lots to like about the place - quirky decor, quirky wine list food and quirky staff. The food is pretty good - lots of traditional British fare, although often with a bit of a twist...which sometimes work and sometimes don't. Hearty portions, a nice fire and candles on the tables - a good place to take the parents.

“I wish there were places to eat like this in London”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

My partner and I spent last weekend in Cambridge, to get out of London and just explore the city. We ate at D'Arry's on Friday evening and liked it so much we came back on Saturday evening. The food was excellent: the fish of the day beautifully fresh and well-cooked and the Chicken and Ham Pie was the best I've ever had. The ham and chicken both deeply tasty - obviously a lot of trouble had been taken. The room is very convivial, we felt very comfortable there and the staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming. The service was excellent without being too intrusive. We have yet to find somewhere like this in London which is probably good for our bank balance but sad otherwise...

“Really good food and excellent wine list”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

This is an excellent restaurant with a great, wide ranging menu which caters well for vegetarians too. The service is efficient and friendly and the the surroundings very pleasant. The wine list is extensive and helpful food matching suggestions are very useful. Thoroughly recommended.

“Good Bistro, friendly and great service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

We booked their private room for a family lunch party and the food was good, the service efficient, patient and friendly. Price range around £20-25 per head ex wine -portions large !

They also do a 'two courses for £12.95'

Would recommend and go again.

“Excellent meal & great value at this city centre restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013

We were headed for another restaurant (which we didn't like when we found it) and passed this one on the way. Deciding to give it a try, we had a most enjoyable meal with excellent service. We ate reasonably early so the place wasn't too busy and we had a window table. We ate from the early evening fixed price menu which was great value, though choice was limited. The food was excellent and my chicken & chips was very well presented, making a mundane choice into a very pleasant meal. Two starters & mains plus two glasses of wine for £34 seems a good deal in a city like Cambridge.
A good ambience completed a very pleasant experience. Recommended.
