“Delicious! Should be much further up the list.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

Great coffee. The best I have tasted from any cafe in Cambridge. Not too weak, not too strong but with a nice smooth kick. A small selection of homemade baking. I chose the chocolate chunk cake which tasted fresh, delicious and not at all 'bought in'. The cafe is close to a lot of Cam Uni Science departments so there was a fair few postgrads from around the world. Also plenty of science journals to browse! The cubicle style seating may not be to everyones' taste but hey, you can always order take away.

“Simply the best espresso in town.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013

If you're an espresso fiend, especially an antipodean looking for something akin to the quality and short intense shots you miss from "back home" then look no further. Great coffee, freshly roasted by HasBean in Staffordshire. Excellent owner-operators who really care about what they're doing and go out of their way to select good quality ingredients for everything else they do, not just the coffee! Massaro's is my "coffee home" in Cambridge.

“Honestly don't get what all the fuss is about?”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

OK, a lot of my friends keep telling me how absolutely amazing this place is, how great coffee is, how delicious the food is... Well I gave it a go 4 times now, over the course of a year and I do not like it. The coffee is good but small, Savino's is a much better value for money. Ciabatta was soooooo hard every time, my jaws hurt... again Savino's or Norfolk Deli or Norfolk Street Portuguese bakery make absolutely amazing sandwiches.
The prices are too high for what it is, there is very little sitting and it is sooo busy the is no way to talk.. I am not going back again, simply do not see what other do

“Great coffee and ciabatta”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2012

This place was great for mid-day reprieves during the final year of my PhD (and I wish I had discovered it sooner!). The espresso is skillfully hand-pulled and the quality truly stands out. The ciabatta sandwiches were great as well. Coffee snobs will not be disappointed.

“Excellent espresso and pleasant atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

Massaro's is one of the few coffee shops in the area with excellent coffee. (They even use lever espresso machines.) The pastry selection is delicious, and the husband/wife owners are cheerful and welcoming. A great spot for having a morning cappuccino with a friend or getting some work done over a flat white.
