“Safe and convenient”

My 20 year old daughter spent 2 weeks with Janet at White Cottages in July 2012. Janet was her "UK Mom" and I felt better knowing Janet was watchig out for her. Janet was so friendly and helpful! She introduced her to other young people in Cambridge. She let my daughter use her kitchen and even helped with laundry! It was like a homestay with a comfortable room, lovely patio, comfy bed, and nice bathroom. A bit noisy street traffic, but the location is ideal...convenient to Addenbrookes and city centre by bike.

Spent one night at white cottages. nice environment, nice breakfast. it's worth to stay with, and you can learn a lot of interesting story about the university from the household, who is a really nice and considerate lady. The location is not too far from city center. You can walk along the river then reach the school area within 20 minutes.

My husband and I recently stayed at White Cottages. Janet is a gracious, sweet and incredibly fun woman! Our stay was lovely and she took great care of us. The accommodations are so beautiful and Janet's homemade breakfasts are delicious and so thoughtfully prepared. We will be back in Cambridge next year and have already let Janet know that we'll be staying with her again!

My friend Claire and I stayed 1 night in May 2012. Just such a lovely place, great funiture throughout (we particularly like the Italian armchairs) and just the most fantastic bathroom. It felt like staying at a friend's house; including a cup of tea in bed. 20 minutes walk along the canels to get into the town. We had such a lovely time and can not recommend highly enough. Thanks Janet

My partner and I stayed here as we were visiting Cambridge for the weekend. We received a warm welcome from Janet who made us feel very much at home. The bed was comfortable and the house cosy and warm despite the icy conditions outside. The bathroom is newly decorated with a powerful shower and deep bath. There was no shower gel provided but there was soap available. Janet has a passion for history and there were pewter goblets at the breakfast table which have appeared in one of the Harry Potter films! The property lives up to its name and feels like a cottage inside with low ceilings, pleasant fireplaces and rustic doors. It is located on a busy road but double glazing keeps most of the noise out. It is a good 15/20 minute walk to the historic centre of Cambridge which is worth bearing in mind for eating out. We would recommend Bill's restaurant for good food and atmosphere and the Eagle pub for a drink.Overall a great visit and worth the £35 a night.

At the end of a fairly long and exhausting business trip I decided to visit Cambridge for a few days. I wanted to stay close to the city, but far enough not to get caught up in the city traffic. White Cottages B&B proved the perfect place! I can’t say enough about the hostess, Janet Parr. She made me feel at home and was extremely knowledgeable of the city’s colorful history. Her fine English breakfast was just what I needed to jump start my day. When it was time to head home I was more relaxed than I’ve been in years. Future trips to Cambridge will include White Cottages as part of the journey.
