“Authenically Historic Architecture”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

Queens College is a small, intimate sized college that must have been a special place for learning from its beginnings 550 years past. I enjoyed walking the grounds, essentially divided into small courtyards, but my favorite was the bigger of the two courtyards, which is to your right as you walk through the grounds. The timber-sided building is still from what it was when it was originally built....you can see history in the slight mis-alignment of beams due to settling and waving of the glass on its windows, also due to settling. The banquet hall, still the same one, from the days of its founders is used to this day for dining and banqueting. For a nominal fee, you get a detailed brochure containing excellent information as you tour the grounds.

“Lovely river location and quiet atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2012

Queens' is a very lovely college which is often quieter than others on the tourist trail. You can cross the Mathematical Bridge and sit on the far side of the river on benches, facing the old part of the college - very relaxing on a warm afternoon. New parts ore very ugly, and there is currently renovation going on but still, worth a pause on your way round the college circuit.
