“Much improved”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

The Red Bull is our closest pub and its ambience is much improved by its major renovation and friendlier staff. We intend to start using it regularly again. At our last visit we shared a pizza and salad. Both were very good. It has a good selection of draught beer.

“This pub has now been improved , It's trying to get better and getting there !”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013 via mobile

Feels brighter and cleaner than before , although. Still has areas for impovement , on the basic pub front has made some strides , pizzas are really good and it's family and dog friendly , outside area much better than it was and I was informed they are commited to improving wines etc nice whisky selection , if small , beers selection currently a little narrow ie all similar but served well , for a local out of town pub this had improved and whilst there is room for further growth it is sound and ok value good student atmosphere but caters for most , service friendly
If in the area give it a try for a local pub it's trying and getting there !

“Good pizzas, otherwise fairly grim”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

Excellent pizza - I had one of their "specials", a calzone stuffed with gorgonzola, mushrooms, chilli and other goodies, and one of my companions had a very tasty, well cooked Americano. However, the rest of the food was poor - uninspiring chips (dont buy them) and salad and overcooked whitebait.

The surroundings were grim and grubby - in vital need of a hefty dose of decoration. I assume the place was so busy as it is the only pub/restaurant in this part of Cambridge.

Adequate service, although the two fgirls present were more interested in nattering to people they knew rather than providing a rapid service.

“Pleasant change from the chains and gastros”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

Saturday lunch, just dropped in. Student/football pub with good honest food and service. Fish and chips only spoiled by absence of HP sauce.

“Neighborhood pub with great pizza”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

Not much more than a local pub with good beer, good pizza, and a friendly staff. What more could you ask for? Not terribly fancy, but has outdoor seating, a good beer selection (usually has Black Sheep, a Yorkshire fave), and a great 2-for-1 Monday special on food.

One tragic flaw: no fresh basil for their Margarita pizza.
