“Food OK, Service Poor!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2012

We visited on a Saturday night in December with friends and were really underwelmed with the experience. For the cost our experience did not represent value for money in any way.
The food was OK but the whole experience was spoilt by the terrible service. We can all accept that a Saturday night in December is never going to be super fast but this night was beyond a joke and most of the staff just spent their time avoiding making eye contact.
We were placed on a table close to the front door and it was freezing, an icy blast everytime it opened was made worse as the overhead heater was broken. Add to that the manager standing holding the door open whilst he chatted to someone then brushing aside our pleas to close the door!
The only redeeming part of the nice was one superb waitress (I wish we could remember your name) who could see what a shambles it was and went out of her way to try and be pleasant but could do nothing to put right what was outside of her control.

“Avoid at all costs....service the worst I have ever experienced...”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2012

Having found many restaurants in Cambridge fully booked for Saturday night we should have been wary of getting a table here. Atmosphere very average and menu basic and frankly uninspiring. The main issue however is the service, we had to wait 50 minutes for our starter which was lukewarm calamari that had obviously been pre cooked and attempted to be re heated. We then found that after being there 1 1/2 hours we still hadn't seen our main course nor could we see much food actually coming out of the kitchens. The table next to us also had to chase their food and when it did arrive they hadn't even been brought plates or the sauce to go with the steak. We started chasing our food as well and the staff said they were understaffed. My husband then pointed out that we had been waiting for 1 1/2 hours for what was only a steak! The waitress objected to our complaint immediately and went on the attack. For the first time in my life we actually walked out of a restaurant. Appallingly run restaurant only surviving on a town full of tourists and looking at past reviews should have closed down a long time ago!
