“Great location in Clifton”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 days ago NEW

We stayed in the twin bedroom as pictured on the website - I think it was called Tom and overlooking the street (it was still pretty quiet). We got a taxi from the station which cost £8.80 for the 2 of us. Simon welcomed us & showed us to our room which was lovely & warm, and generally made us feel at home. We had a washbasin in the room, hairdryer, tea, coffee, carafe of water, homemade cookies, sherry & cashew nuts which was great. The bathroom was next door with a bath & shower, bubble bath, shower gel & shampoo provided. The beds were pretty comfy & it felt more like staying at a friends house than a B&B. Breakfast as many people have said was excellent - a big table that everyone sits around Dinner party style. I had lovely smoked salmon & scrambled eggs on toast & my daughter a bacon sandwich, which kept us going for best part of the day. We will be back if my daughter is successful in getting into University here! Thank you

We stayed for 2 nights to visit our daughter and had not been here before as we are aware that parking can sometimes be a bit of a problem. However, we were able to park easily, and although it wasn't always outside the door, it wasn't actually a problem at all.
The B&B itself is wonderful, with considerate hosts who are always there to help or give advice.
We had a lovely view of the Clifton Suspension Bridge from our room and also down the river. There were also lots of little extra nibbles and a glass of sherry to come back to in the evenings, which was a nice touch. The breakfast is plentiful; enough to set you up for a day of exploring the Clifton area with its many independent shops and eateries, plus the Bridge and Clifton downs etc. We will be staying again, now we know that parking is not really an issue.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view.

This is one of those places that simply puts a smile on your face. Everything about it - the building itself, Simon and Joanna, the views from the our top floor room of Clifton bridge and the gorge, the accommodation, and breakfast - was excellent. I would say try and get a room at the back of the building if you want the views, but it's an excellent place to say regardless. It's so close to so many good things.

We will return

Room Tip: One with a viewed the gorge if you can

We stayed for one night in September on our way down to Cornwall and couldn't fault our stay. The fact that they allow 1 night stays is a bonus as many places insist on 2 nights and Simon was really accommodating. We requested the garden suite due to having a two year old which was lovely. It is downstairs but the room overlooks the beautiful garden and the bathroom is simply huge - with a separate bath and shower. The sherry, nuts, tea and coffee and cherry cake left for you are lovely personal touches and our daughter loved the cake!!
The location in Clifton is perfect. The suspension bridge is literally on the doorstep and the new children's park next to the bridge is great. Clifton itself is very pretty with lots of independent shops and was perfect for what we wanted.
We did have a drink at the Avon Gorge hotel on the fabulous terrace overlooking the bridge. Yes its expensive but given the view, you know this before you sit down.
Finally, the breakfast choice is very extensive and we can recommend the full English!
We would not hesitate to return and will be recommending it to our friends and family.

First of all, for the poor reviews, sorry, perhaps it's time for new glasses or perhaps an attitude adjustment. If you were really that unsatisfied, immediately speak with the proprietors and they will correct discrepancies rather than publicly biotch about them.

Located in a highly desirable location of Bristol, the house is beautiful, loaded with antiques and character that reflects the history of the home.
Simon & his wife, Joanna stay very busy running the place and do their best to socialize with their customers as much as possible. Our room was clean and charming with an amazing view of the bridge and river, easy access to great restaurants, pubs, shopping and buses. Please note that while the museums are not in immediate proximity to the Princes 9, the buses are and it's a very short bus ride into town, about £2 each way or get a bus pass, a cab is about £8 to £10, if I remember correctly. Every evening we'd come back to a fresh sherry and a home baked treat and there was always water, coffee and tea available. The size of the room and toilet were more than adequate, and the toiletries were in abundant supply. To top off my review, breakfast was the "cream of the crop", and would have cost a small fortune to purchase in town, the menu was anything from continental, to salmon & eggs, full english breakfast and pancakes with meat. We plan on returning the end of next year.

Room Tip: I'm not sure, but we were very pleased with our room not to mention the price was very reasonabl...

I stayed for 2 nights recently while on a course at Engineers House. Simon and Joanna were very welcoming and helpful hosts who have maintained 9 Princes Buildings beautifully. My room was very comfortable with a great view. Breakfast was excellent. Loads of restaurants within a short walk. I arrived by taking a bus from the airport into Bristol then a taxi. I would definitely go back.

This is a family owned B&B, run with great care and attention to detail. We loved the 9 Princes and appreciate Simon's hospitality and politeness. We were looking forward to having a true british experience and we had it ;)
