“All we needed for a comfortable stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013

Our recent two day stay at The Belgrave began with a bit of a compromise as we had to settle for twin beds rather than our preferred double ( this we were aware of at the time of booking). Whilst the building was typical of it's age, it provided all we needed for a comfortable stay - clean rooms, adequate space, good shower, dining nook, separate entrance and French doors to the courtyard as well. Breakfast was brought to our room, and Mike and Kay went out of their way to help us dry washing and soaked clothing from the afternoon downpour. The area provided good proximity to the suspension bridge and the train to Bath, and restaurants recommended by Mike.

As a solo female traveller, this B&B was excellently positioned - easy walk to places of interest, overlooking Westbury Park and with very friendly hosts. It felt safe to return here after 9pm as the street was open and well lit. The walk down the hill to town was easy.

This B and B offers a lovely room, great facilities and a superb breakfast. The proprietors are extremely accommodating and friendly. The room was spotless and the shower room was too. We were allowed up to their private home and had a look at the stunning view right across Bristol.
The accommodation is perfectly placed near great bars, restaurants and shops.

5 of us stayed here recently for a family wedding. We and our 2 sons had the 2 basement rooms while our daughter stayed in the room overlooking the Downs.

Our hosts were very accommodating and helpful, the rooms were very clean, comfortable and spacious. We were fortunate enough to have wonderful views of the Balloon Fiesta during the morning while having breakfast which was served in our rooms.

The Hotel is very convenient to the city centre and despite being a very busy weekend, we had no difficulty with parking. Highly recommended.

I stayed here before an early audition at the Bristol Old Vic theatre school, and couldn't have asked for anything better. The owners were very welcoming and made sure I had everything I needed to settle in. It was the perfect balance between feeling at home, but also having your own space and privacy. The room was spacious and clean, and looked out over the common. In the morning a delicious breakfast was brought up to my room, and then it was only a 5 minute walk down the (same) road to get to the Theatre School. Much less stressful than staying somewhere in central Bristol, with far more charm and homely atmosphere. I would highly recommend it.

Owners Kay and Mike Taylor provide a first-class service with a smile at their Clifton b&b which both overlooks the verdure of the Durdham Downs and gives easy access to the hustle and bustle of the city centre. It is very clean, purveys you with all the commodities you'd ever need at a b&b and a tray-delivered breakfast is brought to your room every morning to boot – excellent service with a personal touch. I cannot recommend The Belgrave more highly!

What a surprise find. This is like your own wee basement mini apartment with access out into small terrace, two big comfy seats to lounge in and a table and two chairs with tea making facilities. All that said you get breakfast delivered to your room and even carried out to the terrace if you want to sit out. Really big airy shower room and fantastic hosts made this one of the best surprises we have had accommodation wise in years. The only compromise you have to make in this room anyway is twin beds. Sits right on the Downs, 5 minutes walk to Zoo and few more to suspension bridge. "a little treasurer". great comfy welcoming base to explore Bristol .
