“Fabulously friendly, great location, comfortable rooms and good breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2011

A great independent B&B situated at minutes walk from the top end of Whiteladies Road overlooking the Downs. Parking on the road is free and we found a space just across the road from the Belgrave (not bad for a Saturday in August!). The B&B is run by a very friendly couple and our party (two couples) seemed to spend most of our time chatting about the very amusing conversations we had had with the land lady, we all agreed she was one of the most entertaining people we had ever met!
We had two twin rooms (we booked late and that was all that was available) but both rooms were clean and very comfortable. Breakfast is served in your room and we all opted for the full english (continental is also available) which went down a treat. There is Sky TV in the rooms, free wi-fi and tea and coffee making facilities (no hairdryer though so must remember to take one next time).
We will definitely stay at the Belgrave next time we are in Bristol, if only to catch up with the wonderful owners :)

Very excellent service couple with the natural beauty of the landscape. A great place to stay for any occasion in Bristol. Not far away from city centre (10mins) with bus running every 10mins. Rooms are very spacious, well ventilated and tidy. Breakfast is second to none with vey friendly/ family owners. Cost ok considering the location, fac ilities and services. Will not hesitate in recommending this lovely B&B to any one looking for place to stay around Bristol centre..

The main reason for staying here other than the fact that the location is superb, must surely be the gorgeous, funny and frankly quite marvellous Kay.

Everything was comfortable and as it should be. Our room was large with it's own patio area with superb views over Bristol City. We had no problem finding a parking place on the road opposite the B&B.

I'd really like to have a chance to come back to this B&B so that I can spend some more time laughing with Kay.

Stayed at the Belgrave whilst attending a conference. The area is good, looking out onto common land. The room was fine, fairly basic in the bathroom but fully functional.

Breakfast was good and served in your room - there is no communal breakfast room. Free wifi was a plus.

There was no designated parking here - you park on the road outside if you can find a space.

Small plasma TVs in the rooms and a kettle with basic tea/coffee and UHT milk pots.

Overall was good value at the price and fine for a short stay in Bristol.

I stayed with Mike and Kay for 3 nights the last weekend in May. Their place is absolutely lovely - gorgeous spacious room, nice bathroom with a huge clawfoot tub, right across the street from open space (lots of runners, cyclists, dogs enjoying it!).

Mike and Kay are just wonderful hosts - so welcoming, so friendly, so helpful! Breakfast (whatever I wanted) was delivered to my room each morning. I especially loved chatting with them down in their kitchen each day before I headed out.

Was just a 10-minute walk/3-minute drive to my son's house. Also very convenient to main roads, bus line, etc. They gave me very detailed directions for wherever I was going, and even recommended a wonderful place for Sunday breakfast/lunch/brunch with my son; they even gave the restaurant a ring to let them know we were coming and to take good care of us.

I don't expect to be returning to Bristol, but if I did, I would definitely stay with Mike and Kay again! You should too!
