“Good location and extremely helpful staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013

I stayed for a night with my wife and 3 month baby. The staff were excellent. They even have a 24 hour food menu. The bar was decent and location couldnt have been better. The only thing to note is that the roms are air cooled and not air conditioned.

The room was fine, beds were comfy and televisions were a good size, all over the room was modern and functional and actually had enough plug sockets!! (Has to be a first!!)
The bathroom although clean and perfectly functional wouldnt have been out of place on a caravan, very unusual pod like capsules, lovely big shower though.

I did not eat my evening meal here as we were attending a work event next door (The living room-Lovely bar, well worth walking the 5 metres to its door!) but the breakfast was not that great. Personally avoid the hot food (Bacon is ok) I ate some of the breakfast and regretted it, then deciding to use one of the freash baguettes and brie to make a brie and bacon sandwich, this was very nice and I took it with me for the road.

Not a great experience for an Ibis, surprising given the usual level of brand consistency across Accor sites.

The hotel is in a good location for the city centre and is near lots of bars and places to eat. The hotel was obviously constructed relatively recently and the foyer/reception areas are clean and smart.

The room was typical for an Ibis in terms of design and layout. The room I stayed in was cold and the heating didn't work and it emitted a slightly worrying electrical arcing noise when switched on and then switched itself off. Cleanliness was reasonable and the bathroom was pretty spotless. The TV has a keyboard style remote control and this was covered in something really sticky and nasty- it would have been nice for that to have been cleaner. The door lock didn't work properly and twice I had to traipse back to reception and get help to open the door.

In my experience at other Ibis hotels in the UK and Europe, breakfast is usually pretty good but sadly this was the worst bit of my stay. Watery, cold scrambled egg, boiled wet bacon and a toaster that just vaguely warmed up the bread was the order of the day. I at a bit of a muffin that was frozen in the middle p before deciding to go to the Costa around the corner. If you are toying with whether or not to get the breakfast rate, don't bother as it really isn't worth it and the food choices are very limited.

The hotel is fine and if pushed I would stay again. I was disappointed because Ibis is usually a safe bet with good value for money, but this time my expectations were not met. There is a Premier Inn nearby and I will stay there when I next return as I think that brand offers a better stay in the budget category.

Overall, it is fine. Staff were friendly and it is a good place to sleep for the night. If you are staying for leisure or a weekend break I would look elsewhere.

Spent one night here on 3rd floor, as was seeing a show at the Hippodrome. Lovely comfortable bed (oh, so comfortable), loved the 'pod bathroom' with double size shower, (designer must be a millionaire by now!). You can watch normal TV stations and radio for free, (£9.99 if you want movies and wifi for 24 hours in room), lots of tea, coffee, sugar in room, hairdrier on shelf, early morning wake up call, lighting in room very good if you have to work. Work station facing the window - great watching the office workers across the road) but they do eventually go home! Thick curtains for bed time or I found it nice to leave open with street light on outside. So all in all, what more could you want for a night away on your own? Price depends on when you book and who you book with. Hotel is nice and central, 10 mins slow walk from Bristol Hippodrome (with trolley case), lots of buses (I got one from Temple Meads Station (No 8 and No 9) £1.70 for a single trip, and if you don't know where to get off the locals are happy to help. Don't just rely on the driver because they may end their shift and change over on the journey as happened to me.
I am back there in February so hope it is as enjoyable. If you are reading this Mr/Mrs/Miss Ibis - the accompanying rocket, tomato and dressing were really lovely, and thanks for letting me take it to my room, but can you just make sure the potato in jacket is hot, or at least warm, the next time, cos it would have been delicious. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Room Tip: You do get people returning late at night so ask for room at end of corridor if you are a light slee...

Ibis Bristol City Centre is comfortable to stay due to its quite atmosphere. Not forgetting its hygiene and their friendly staff. If you are seeking for a budget hotel with a strategic location, I would suggest Ibis Bristol City Centre.

We were celebrating a 40th birthday and used this hotel to stay centrally in Bristol. It was very convenient for the waterfront area. The hotel was modern, new, and clean. The rooms were a little on the small side, but what you would expect from this kind of hotel. Our room was as far from the elevators as you can get, so we had a quiet night.

great location in the millenium square surround by bars and restaurnts and only a short walk to the city centre about 10 mins and about 15min walk to the big shopping mall,
the room was clean and modern bit basic but great value for money , we did'nt eat breakfeast at the hotel as there is a weatherspoons pub 5 mins from the hotel and a nice cafe in the gallery shopping mall 10 mins walk away will go back and stay there again .
