“Lots of plusses - except the car park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2012

This is a regular staging point on long drives. The meal deal is excellent, checkin is quick, the rooms are good and you know what you're getting at a Premier Inn. Sometime I must turn the mattress over to see where they get the comfortable beds. The only downsides with this one are that for some reason it's usually a few pounds more expensive than other comparable Premier Inns, and the car parking is not sufficient for its size, so we had to park elsewhere and move the car later.

Stayed here on way back from shropshire. Nice clean quiet room. pleasant helpful staff overall very good. location very good for shopping centre etc. . My only gripe is directions to the hotel are very misleading.

Stayed here on my way to Cornwall and the room was nice, clean and most importantly very quiet. Had a great night's sleep before we drove on. We mostly chose this hotel because of its location close to the M5 and also on our way. The breakfast had limited selection but I guess I am splitting hairs.

Spend two nights in the hotel. Room nice and clean and quiet. Staff happy and helpful. Food very good. Had a to work a fair way to my room and would prefer traditional check-in, but overall very good.

As regards accommodation this was definitely first class, more in keeping with a higher end chain than you would normally expect with Premier Inn. The facilities were good, and the buffet breakfast was first class, so overall it was good value for money as usual. The only downside was the self check-in. We'd had a long drive and arrived fairly late. The car park was full, so we had to park on the end of a row which wasn't a designated space. It would have been nice after a lengthy journey to have been able to walk up to a reception desk and have the check-in done by a friendly member of staff whilst we just waited to sign a form. Instead we were confronted with several computer screens with a member of staff on hand to assist. I'm sure the process was very straightforward if I could have been bothered to listen to the instructions which were rushed through at the speed of light in a clearly well rehearsed manner. But we were tired and the whole process seemed more in keeping with ATM machines at a bank, rather than the more personal service I've come to expect from a hotel check in. If I'd been on my own and had arrived earlier in the day maybe I would have been less dismissive but I can't help but hope that this 'sterile' form of check-in doesn't become the norm. My suggestion would be to have the traditional reception desk with a few self check-in screens as an alternative during busy times.

We really enjoyed our stay here. We were attending a two-day event nearby and this hotel was very accessible from the motorway and easy to find.

The hotel now has air conditioning (I don't remember it having this when we stayed 2 years ago) which makes the room much more comfortable - no requesting fans to try and cool the room down! The hotel has recently been extended and the rooms were fresh and clean. The staff were very friendly - the check-in process is self-service, but there were staff there to welcome you and assist if necessary.

We didn't use the restaurant for dinner, but at breakfast the food was good and the area was the right size for the hotel. Not cramped and food was always topped us - no having to wait for them to replenish food.

There was a little noise from within the hotel - from people who slammed their doors or stomped about in the corridors, but this was minimal. We heard no noise from outside the hotel.

The location of the hotel is very good - as previously said it is not far just off the motorway junction, and is very close to Cribbs Causeway shopping centre so anything you may need is nearby.

We will definitely stay at this hotel again.
