Clean, Nice decor and comfortable. Nice quiet area and garden.
No complaints there at all.
However, maybe I'm not a Guesthouse kind of person and prefer the anonymity of a hotel. There's friendly and then there's intrusive. I found the questions from the lady owner, in an effort to be 'friendly', a little inappropriate and annoying. 'Where are you going today?' 'What time will you be back?' 'Why are you staying in Bristol?' etc....
I also was expected to choose my breakfast at 4.30pm having just walked in the door after a 3 hour drive.
Breakfast ends at 8.45 by the way. Fine if you're used to getting up at the crack of dawn when you're on a break.
The main complaint was the fact that none of the rooms had keys! I've never heard of such a thing. I was not happy leaving my laptop and belongings in the room and I couldn't even lock my room from the inside so in effect, anyone accidentally or otherwise could have just walked in as the rooms were not numbered to identify them! No key to the front door either so if you want to come back after midnight you have to inform the owners in advance.
Felt like I was a teenager back at my mum's.
