First of...remember it is a Spoons!!
I went to the W.G. Grace on a Sunday evening for our boys burger night out!! and we were expecting it to be a bit rubbish (being a spoons and all) However we were shocked by how bad it was!!
Bearing in mind we are all Chefs at a local cafe we might have certain expectations regarding service, food, quality etc.
2 of us ordered the gourmet chicken burgers and 2 the gourmet beef.
The best part of the experience was the speed at which (3 of) our meals arrived!!
I preceded to tuck into my chicken breast fillet burger, and found myself chewing threw some of the toughest, over cooked, dry, tasteless processed breast seen since Katie Price arrived on the scene.
I had low expectations, but was still overwhelmed by how bad it was.
My friends burger was left under the hot lamp for a good 12-15 minuets, before he decided to get up and get it himself.
As for the Atmosphere??....It is a Wetherspoons!!
Throughout the meal I had to keep reminding myself "I only paid £6.50 for this meal and Beer"....But when we left and went to Roo Bar (just up the road, by Clifton Down station) we could have paid £6 for the same meal and it looked A LOT better and the bar had atmosphere!!)
We returned at around midnight as it was the only place still serving drinks and had a lovely chat with one of the bar maids, so its not all bad!! Just 99%.
Wetherspoons new tagline...."You Can't Polish a Turd!!"
