Went here for dinner with my boyfriend on a Thursday evening and was overwhelmed by how fantastically friendly the staff were. The place looked nice and definitely an improvement on Amici's.
When looking at the menu there wasn't a huge amount of choice. Nothing exciting particularly jumped out of the menu. The pizza toppings were even extremely limited. Unfortunately food wise this place falls into the trap many do, believing Italian is simple and easy to make in an authentic manner...and unfortunately fails. Our starters were nice enough. They arrived very quickly and one was slightly cold, which implies they were microwave reheated. My boyfriend had the carbonara, which was definitely nice enough, but not mind blowing. The pizza was incredibly bland, with very little flavouring to the base. We did not order dessert, as the choice was very limited and later it came to light none were homemade, but all frozen bought.
This place has a great atmosphere, and fantastic staff that have worked so hard. However, it is not authentic Italian food and merely a standard high street version of it. Better than Amici's, worth a visit, but don't expect too much if you actually appreciate good, authentic cuisine as this is merely a replica.
