“Decent”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

Typical Travelodge hotel. Decent room, lovely bed. Half way between Bristol Temple Meads railway station and the city centre. Also ideal for the Fleece club for gigs. Tea and coffee in room. Could do with more TV channels though.

Wife & I stayed 5 nights 3rd week of April -Sunday to Fri AM. Had a 1st floor room, looked to be recently updated, very clean. Beds were firm the way we like them. Booked well in advance so paid ~ £40 per. Quiet inside (no partiers), a bit of traffic noise outside during the day. Did not park or use the cafe. Some decent food places close by. As per other comments room & bath are small but that is to be expected. Staff were great. Do your homework & read reviews to compare. The recent T.A. excellent & very good reviews are right on for the most part. WIFI is not free which is not unexpected for budget place. Speed was fair, a bit slow at times, until major problem on last day. 2 calls to "helpline" did not resolve. Traded emails with Customer Support afterword asking for a refund.

If you are staying here then be aware that there is a cramped car-park under the hotel, which appeared to be mainly taken up by staff cars when we stayed, as these had no pay and display ticket and if you require over 5 hours parking (overnight basically) it will cost you £7.50! Otherwise the room is comfortable but the outside of the hotel and reception area is rather average!

Very "cheap" hotel for a relative quite a lot of money.
Room carpet needs to be renewed or deeply cleaned inmediately as it's disgusting to walk barefoot on it.
Heating means were not adequate for the room size so the night was pretty cold.
Poor furniture to alocate your cloths. IT's a hotel for a one stand only, to a conserable price. Premier Inn 1 mile away is quite cheaper and even not great still much better than this one.

Stayed for one night 23/04/15. The hotel was located in the centre of Bristol easy walking distances to all the points of interest.Lot of bars and restaurants near by.
The hotel itself was very clean, size of the room more than adequate, bed was very comfortable. What more would you want? I was quite impressed. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Did not eat at the hotel as a near-by Wetherspoons were offering English breakfast for £2.99. I would recommend this hotel and would go back again.
The only problem with Bristol is parking. If the Town Hall experts want to impress tourists they have to sort out the parking chaos that exists at the moment.
The hotel had an underground car park but it was not owned by them. The charges were £7.50 for 24 hours. Excellent rate if you can get a place. In the day the car parking spaces are taken by office staff, after 1700 hours they depart and if you are quick you may get a place.
Near-by is O'Donnels a little Irish bar, very friendly and a good atmosphere.
If you arrive late morning or early afternoon parking is difficult and expensive. Drop your cases off and find a place out of town. I found a free car park near to Belvedere Rd. Past the railway station Next to a Tesco's store. It is approx 10 minutes walk. The bonus is you will pass a beautiful bread shop and the smell will tempt you inside.

Room Tip: I was on the 4th floor very quiet.

We stayed here on a Saturday evening due to attending the hit the deck festival in Bristol. We were not allowed to check in till 3. When we got our room card we had to find our room, which is pretty standard for these places. The room was very small, only just big enough to fit a double bed in it, clean and functional but no wow factor to it at all. In fact whilst we were getting ready to go our 10 minutes after entering the room there was a quick knock on the door and before I could reply someone came into the room to 'inspect that it Was clean ' I mean we could have been disturbed whilst being up to anything. The bathroom was very small the shower so small buy functional with no lock on the bathroom door. In the morning we paid for all you can eat breakfast which was ok. Good food quality but there's so many tables crammed into the tiny bar area that you are nearly sat back to back. It was ok until stag n hen parties awoke to continue their rowdiness, talk about lack of respect for other hotel users.
