We arrive here on a hot day, the lakeside is packed with people, really testing how fit for purpose the cafe is.
As soon as we're inside we only have to queue for a couple of mins to be served - the management have done well to supply the right level of staffing for this very hot weather, etc. I order 2 cream teas and we're very quickly served. Both the scones, cream, jam and tea were excellent, with servings being generous.
The views there are excellent, the lake; magnificent. We could see boats sailing around and people enjoying themselves - this was a perfect location for it.
However, when I ordered two lattes to leave, I was let down. Firstly, they weren't Lattes - despite them having an espresso machine, we got filter coffee with a splash of milk and few very large bubbles. A true Latte is an espresso shot with expertly steamed milk added - not water with a splash of milk.
This ended my visit on a disappointing note. I look forward to going back there- but won't order the coffee (I hate to think of what the cappuccino's like!).
