After a mothers day visit, I am surprised that people write glowing reports about Bristol Zoo.
It was really dirty inside the walkways in the animal exhibits, concrete which could have been easily water blasted had obviously not been cleaned in a while, at the end of the Twilight zone, there was a house which smelt of urine. The carpets on the stairs which my toddler put his hands on had not been vacuumed in months and in parts were coming off. It was disgusting.
The best parts of the zoo in terms of upkeep were the shop, with its expensive prices, the fairground ride and the blow up slide (we were at the zoo, not the fairground!) and the extortionate cafe- With poor quality food. It felt like it was a cafe, shop and fairground business.
There were many vacant animal displays, it was just difficult to keep the my toddler interested, as there was so little to see.
