we stayed at the Glanville to visit my partner's son who is studying at the university and made this booking well in advance paying £60 a night, ie not cheap. We were shown to a family room that style had bypassed, that would have slept another 3 people in the various beds. I was pleased to find it was extremely clean though. The building itself did not seem very soundproof,so we could catch snippets from the rowdy conversation from the house next door. There were several little annoyances. Firstly the narrow, but wide window that ran the width of the alcove/extension did not have a curtain and bathed the room in light from daybreak. Secondly, I was almost scalded by the shower, which appeared to be very sensitive to water pressure fluctuations, only for it to go cold the next moment. Although the towels were changed every day, on the last night we were only given one set, forcing one of us to use the small handtowel after showering. And then there was the somewhat lacklustre DIY breakfast from which ,on the last morning, butter was lacking ,save an industrial tub of margarine full of crumbs. For our next visit to Bristol I think we can find something better for the equivalent cost.
