My University daughter had to go into Bristol Hospital late one afternoon and my partner booked a room just before I drove to see her.
As time in A&E moved on I tried to let the hotel know I would arrive very late but seemed to have the wrong number.
Arriving at midnight check in was very smooth although they had no record of booking, the confirmation print out proved very useful. Managed to find a space in residents car park - lucky as no street parking free for a long way at that time of night.
The room was large & clean .The bed was huge and comfortable with white linen. The bathroom was fine, some of the extra fittings ( Drying rack and hair drier) looked worn but loads of hot water and 4 large towels made up for all this.Never worked out how to turn on the towel rail. Secondary glazed windows but could open the sash behind. Matching furniture, blue spot carpet and good curtains. Kettle mugs tea coffee etc. very welcome. No noise from coridors or other rooms and no creaky floors. No smell of frying in the corridor in the morning. Restaurent staff for breakfast were charming and the breakfast was a delight, Cafetiere coffee very good. Lovely tables overlooking the Terrace and Gorge.
Having read other reviews I was worried but the short stay could not have been better.
We have stayed at a few hotels in Dorset and Devon for short breaks and have always been dissapointed by quality and value. This beat them all in every way.
