i travel regularly for business and i would say this was the best hotel i've stayed in.

Brilliant location next to river and plenty of restaurants.

Lovely bar, lovely log fire.

Friendly staff.

Good breakfast, excellent room service.

Also has a gym which is fine for a hotel gym - a lot better than hotel gyms i've seen in the past.

Pool and sauna area look amazing and really big although i did not use.

The shower in my room was not very hot when i arrived (too cold for an enjoyable shower) however when I called about this they told me i could move rooms or wait until someone could look at it in the morning. i chose to move rooms which they told me i could do right away. After putting the phone down someone arrived at my room within minutes to help me move all my stuff therefore their response to a complaint was brilliant.

All in all brilliant hotel and i will be staying in again when i return in January.

The lobby, club bar and drawing room areas are very welcoming and beautifully relaxing; especially so at Xmas with the added tasteful decorations. We had a room on the 4th floor overlooking the river which was spacious and very comfortable with a lovely armchair and desk chair so we could both sit comfortably. Good TV and room amenities but no mini bar? The spa was very welcoming and all the facilities good. The location is great overlooking college green and aspects of the river with a 10 minute walk to Cabot Circus, and theatres just around the corner. Breakfast is lovely with plenty of choices to suit everyone including delicious porridge and a pancake maker but make sure you book it in advance for just a little extra over the room price. I did not give it 5 stars because the parking price is extortionate at £12.50 per day and there is no area at all within the hotel for free wifi. Also we were originally given a significantly smaller courtyard facing room despite the hotel being only half full and I had to ask for a room with a comfy armchair.

Room Tip: not a small courtyard room - try a higher floor facing the river

This hotel, right next to Cathedral, is well worth the bit extra price if you want a elegant hotel with excellent customer service. Couldn't fault it. Blissfully quiet room, big bed, fluffy pillows, big flat screen TV at foot of bed, good size bathroom with bidet, and great choice of breakfasts.
Sadly we had booked too late to be able to eat Xmas day dinner there (so had to go to sister hotel in city) because the dinner/ function room looked magnificantly laid out. Great place

A lovely traditional hotel with classy bedrooms and excellent public rooms. The staff are very professional and attentive to all your requests. The hotel is situated in a great position, close to the city centre and the fabulous Cabot Circus shopping complex and also to the bars, restaurants and exhibition centres along the marina. All in all a great hotel.

The Royal Marriott in Bristol really does tick all the boxes. A grand building, lovely lobby, very professional staff, gorgeous rooms (on the executive floor where always stay) good dining options, On-Site secure underground parking etc etc etc etc. I have stayed here many times and it is always 100%

Room Tip: Executive floor worth the small levy
