“Very accommodating, great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013

At The White Hart you receive a very warm welcome from Andy and Andrea! The menu has plenty of choice and tastes good. We are fairly regular visitors but don't often eat. We ate there tonight to enjoy the sunshine in the garden. One of the waitresses/bar staff girls can be a little surly but don't let this put you off. Tonight, after I had placed my order I was told it had sold out, sadly so had my second choice. This was overheard by Andy who offered to create something similar for me which was fantastic! Prices are slightly on the higher side but food is good, with nothing nearby providing anything as good and fresh, coupled with a good atmosphere. And it can get really busy so that just demonstrates what a great place this is. Great for families and couples and big garden with chickens running freely! Delightful!

“Good food, good service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

I've visited the White Hart many times over the past few years, with my wife, work friends, family etc. I've never had less than excellent service, excellent food and a nice atmosphere. The garden is fantastic in the summer and there's plenty of space. True, the place leaks and needs a bit of a tart up, but it doesn't detract. It's not that expensive either, especially for Bristol!

“Fantastic location - perfect on a sunny afternoon!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

Brilliant pub with large, lawned gardens - ideal for children and dogs (although some dogs may want to chase the chickens that are roaming free). Food is always fantastic along with the service - the owners are always friendly and welcoming. A bit off the beaten track but it is well worth it once you find it!

“Poor customer care”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013

My partner and I made at least one trip a month from Bristol to The White Hart every year from 2006 till 2012.
A group of seven of us would also have a number of Birthday meals at the pub however, last year we were left extremely disappointed by a bad experience, so much so that we've never returned.

We made a reservation for one of the groups big 5.0. celebrations. The evening was going well until we realised our plates from our main meal had not been cleared, and neither had the waiting staff approached us to check whether everything was 'O.K' with our meals, which from previous experience they always did.

When I approached the man behind the bar to order desserts and more drinks, we were advised that the kitchen had closed and that he was in the process of cashing up therefore, drinks were no longer being served.

When expressing my disappointment that we had not been offered desserts or advised of last orders, the man showed a distinct lack of care for our complaint, refusing to stop his duties in order to engage in conversation with me, which can only be described as extremely arrogant and rude.

Our table was only two thirds through our planned meal and already had a bill of approx. £280 therefore, we were surprised that no effort had been made to ensure our evening went well and that we received good service, which would have more than likely increased our bill by another £100.

The White Hart must be doing very well in order to discard such good, regular custom!

Due to this experience our group decided not to proceed with the 2012 Christmas meal booking we had planned, nor have we returned to the establishment for any other occasion.

The reason it has taken a while to post these comments, is due to how angry the experience made us all feel at the time (and for some time after), mainly because of how disappointed we were by the way we were treated by this normally lovely establishment.

“Will never go there again”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2013 via mobile

Went for a pleasant pint in the lovely evening sunshine. But of the 4 beers available 3 were off and only had one choice.take it leave it.wish I had left it.barman didn't seem interested in customer service only bemoaning the fact that he had to change several barrels. At £11.05 for a glass of wine and a third choice pint, with poor customer service we can safely assume that we will not venture out to this pub again
