“Novel premises and concept but in no way exceptional”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

As the title suggests, worth a stop for a drink of an evening but not somewhere I would stay for a whole night. I love the idea that all their beer is brewed on site and it does taste good but for my liking the place is missing soul and personality. It feels like a very corporate take on a USP and overly clinical. I must also add that in fairness I haven't eaten here so cannot comment on the food.

“Nice pasta and pizza”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2013

An early evening dinner so place was not busy so we had choice of tables downstairs. The Thai linguini was delicious and the range of unusual pizza toppings was impressive. Staff were a little over zealous in their attention to us with more than one waiter/ waitress asking us the same questions and seemed to want us to stay longer even though we had said we needed to go...
Nevertheless the waitress was very sweet and very caring when we said we were hospital visiting.
The restaurant is also a micro brewery...which explains the " old socks" smell that pervades the place.

“Good pizzas”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2013 via mobile

They offer an interesting range of delicious pizzas. Lots of original tastes, especially the salmon&mascarpone pizza is my favourite. The atmosphere though is quite noisy and service tends to be a bit slow

“poor service, lack of attention to food!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013 via mobile

We had made a reservation for 8pm amd out party of 12 all arrived within a 15 minute window. Initially when seated I asked if a drink menu was available I got a short sharp YES, then had to ask if we could have one. The waiter was rude and un attentive. We then proceeded to order drinks from 2 different waiters, which all arrived at different times the last being around 9pm after we had ordered food! We put through a food order at 835/40 but were inform the mussels were being served at half portions. So 5 of the table ordered the reduced size mussels. It then took the waiter 20minutes to tell us they had ran out therefore had to reorder.

We did not receive our mains untill 940 a whole hours after order, the 2 salads orders were missong half the ingredients and we had to ask again for then. The pasta dishes were lacking flavour and substance. One dish was specifically asked not to have squid, when served and the waitered asked we got a short shark, "chef was not able ro take it off.... " who cooked the meal then?

All in all we left around 1030, the bill had a 10% service charge on and this was the only time the waiters were attentive in getting payment.

The service was lacking in every way, waiters rude and inattentive, food tasteless bar maybe the pizzas and generally poor.

We will not be going there again.

“WORST VALENTINES EVER”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

first of all we arrived at 7:45 got seated at a table 'sit where ever you like' said the waitress they didn't even ask for our surname as we had made a reservation weeks before the restaurant was half full . we chose our table upstairs and began our experience

At 7:50 we had our order taken (drinks & food) ( i thought great this is a good start as my friend had told me before hand the service is poor ) by 8:40 i had asked for our starters twice ( we ordered 1 plate of dough balls £3.50 ) by 8:45 we where presented 6 dough balls with a slop of garlic butter in the middle (presentation was awful) by 9pm we had finished our starter and then began our 40 minute wait for our main course which was only a pizza and a salad with a side of fries after 25 minutes i asked where our mains where and got no response as i found myself still waiting for a further 15 minutes . they then forgot our side chips and we had to ask for them too.

after eating our meal i asked to speak to the manager and made a complaint about the lack of service and the way there staff are trained, as no one came around asking if the meal was ok if we needed any more drinks etc..

they gave 25% off the bill which i think is terrible due to what went on and said if we dined there again we would eat for a free but i will NEVER return so it doesn't matter what they said as that one experience has put me off so much that i wont go there again.

+ it was so loud in there you couldnt hear each other speak !
