“Super Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2013

I statyed at the Woburn for a week on business and have to admit its one of the nicest hotels i'vbe stayed in. Its tastefully decorated and generally quiet. If you need complete quiet, ask for a room that doesn't over look the car park as other guests can be very noisy.

Oliviers Restaurant is lovely. The food is excellent, the wine list superb and the staff attentive.

There is no air conditioning but the staff are happy to provide you with a fan, which sadly, given the heat from this summer just circulated hot air. Of course, this is not something that staff can do anything about.

The only negative I had was on departure. When I raised an error in my bill, the reception staff were somewhat sullen and looked annoyed at having to deal with it. That is something that ius easily rectified of course.

Would I stay again? Absolutely, i'm booked in again next week.

Room Tip: If you need quiet, ask for a room that doesn't over look the car park

We stayed here on the safari package. No complaints at all - highly recommend the Chinese suite to stay in and the food in the bar was superb. My children loved the weekend as did us parents. Thank you we will be returning. The safari was amazing and had a lovely day at the Abbey and got to go round the maze so very special.

Thank you for posting your review about the Inn on this site

We are delighted that you enjoyed staying in the Chinese room, recently refurbished, but also our food and service offering in the Tavistock Bar.

Besides having great fun at Woburn Safari Park, it seems that your children enjoyed the attractions available in the Abbey Gardens.

Once again thank you for your comments and we hope to have the opportunity in welcoming you back on the estate very soon.

Yours sincerely,

I don't normally bother writing reviews but this hotel rightly deserves a glowing one. We had a wonderful stay here. Booked as part of safari package which included entry to the safari park which is right on it it's doorstep our stay included two rooms. One of the nicest designed and decorated room I have stayed in. Our kids were welcomed and the staff were friendly to them. The meal in Olivers restaurant was fantastic. Each member of staff in both the hotel and restaurant were happy and provided excellent service and a credit to the hotel. We are definitely coming back soon!

Dear Rissa2222,

Thank you for your review.

We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us but also our team professionalism.

Our Safari Package is one of our most popular breaks this summer. It not only includes access to Woburn Safari Park but also to the Abbey and gardens. When all of this is covered, you are ready for dinner in Olivier’s Restaurant, where you can use our generous package allowance towards your meal.

Once again thank you for your comments and we all look forward to welcoming you soon in Woburn.

Yours sincerely,

Surprise birthday afternoon tea. Couldn't fault it, food was excellent, fantastic sandwiches and cakes. Staff friendly and I had a great time. Lovely location and they had no problems bringing our own birthday cake too.

Thank you for posting your review about our afternoon tea on this site.

We consider Woburn as ' the home of Afternoon Tea' as the tradition is said to have been started by Duchess Anna Maria, wife of the 7th Duke of Bedford at Woburn Abbey during the 1840s. She felt that it was a long time between luncheon and dinner and that taking tea and delicate sandwiches, cakes and biscuits at 5 o’clock helped bridge the gap.

I am pleased that you choose the Inn for this special occasion and that the qulaity of food and service met all your expectations.

Once again thank you.

Kind regards

We were not staying in the hotel. We went for a cream team, and it was lovely. The person that stood out to us was Laura who was working on reception. She was very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Certainly a credit to the place. Will be back again sometime soon I hope

Just got back from a great weekend break at The Inn - £299 per couple for two nights in an executive room with breakfast, £50 credit towards your first night dinner at the restaurant and afternoon tea on a day of your choice. Great service, elegant restaurant with lovely food, sorbet in-between courses, starched white table clothes on tables, but not stuffy restaurant.

Building is traditional but with contemporary twists. Whole place is immaculate, including the bedrooms and bathrooms. Has a large car park and a couple of meeting rooms that open onto outside spaces.

Is within Woburn village - mainly restaurants and antique shops. Friday afternoon we booked kayaks from www.canoetrail.co.uk did the 6 miles from Bromham Bridge to Bedford then drove to The Inn. We were lucky enough to see an otter, mink and a snake in the water. Had fun avoiding fallen trees and getting in and out of kayaks to walk round weir.

On the Saturday we did the safari park and on the Sunday we walked round Woburn Abbey and Gardens - overall a lovely weekend.
