“Reasonable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2014

Helpings are generous, food is fine, but I did not find the menu inspiring at all. I would bring my kids here, they would find something to eat that they would enjoy. A fine place when hungry for a meal. Some in my party were surprised at how enjoyable their meal was, I found it adequate, but particularly remarkable.

Top tip: pop to the pub afterwards for a stunning array of single malt scotches and a very very respectable selection of some great bottled beer-- far better in fact than in many large cities.

“Ok”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2014

Prices were reasonable, the wait was fairly long and the food not that great. I only went once, so perhaps it was just a bad day, friends said it was ok.

“Yummy Food, but crazy service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2014

Arrived here at 6pm on a Thursday night in July.

It took over an hour to get our food. Crazy for simple orders for 6 people.
It seemed that individuals that arrived after us kept being served first.

Unsure what caused it, but, be cautious if you are in a hurry.
The food, when it arrived, was great. No complaints and reasonably priced.

Waitress was pleasant, but, seemed to be at odds with the chef.

This is a charming hidden gem with good food and friendly service. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal! They are happy to prepare food to your specifications. We would certainly eat there again!

“Excellent fare”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2014

Being at the start of the tourist season, the restaurant is probably not open as late as later in the season, but when I showed up probably 20 minutes before closing, the service was most excellent and the quality of the meal was more than merely satisfactory. While waiting for the meal to be cooked, take your time to walk around the café and enjoy the high-quality art that shows and teaches you about the history of what must be one of Canada's truly friendliest towns
