We stayed here during the recent ArtsWells festival and while I was frightened by all the previous reviews, it was actually a decent place to stay. The room was relatively quiet and clean, and the bed was comfortable. In essence, we got our money's worth. We didn't have much interaction with the hotel staff but our room got cleaned promptly during the day so no complaints there. It's obviously an older property and there are some creaks and signs of age, but the fact is we were paying $85 a night on what I'd presume to be the busiest weekend in Wells and we got our money's worth. the only real issue we had was storing our bikes as it was rainy at times over the weekend, but that was relatively minor in the whole scheme of things.
