“Great Stay in Powell River”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

Powell River is at the north end of the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia's highway 101. The Oceanpoint B&B just adds more sunshine to your visit to Powell River! Marie hosts a beautifully clean, comfortable B&B, providing a wonderful, relaxing 3 BR apartment/bed on the lower level (Ocean Royal Suite) with a private entrance. The three bedrooms share a full bath, so it's best to stay with family or close friends. The suite offers the use of a huge kitchen and a nice living room.

Room Tip: We traveled with good friends and we each had a very nice room on the lower level. One BR has a hal...

Recently enjoyed a two night stay at the Ocean Point B&B. Marie, the owner, is a kind and pleasant host.

We stayed in the Ocean Royal Suite which is on the lower, ground, level. It has a private side entrance. It is very clean and huge; my husband and I had full use of the kitchen, living room and bathroom (there are three bedrooms in this Suite). Nice touches include board games and use of a phone (we did not have a cell phone).

Breakfasts, as mentioned by a previous guest, are indeed "superb". Ours were very generous and beautifully (colorfully) presented. Bacon and eggs, waffles and fresh fruit were offered the first morning. Our second breakfast consisted of eggs benedict and fruit crepes. We were treated to Marie's absolutely delicious homemade blackberry jam during both mornings. She prepared the meals upstairs, then delivered them to our suite; we were perfectly fine with this. Our chats with Marie felt like we were visiting a friend.

We appreciate all the thoughtfulness and wonderful memories provided by Marie. We highly recommend the Ocean Point B&B!

Stayed here mid-June in the Ocean Pearl Suite. A beautifully furnished large bedroom with a spacious ensuite bathroom. Wish my home facilities were as nice as this. Superb breaksfasts served by hostess Marie. Absolutely yummy Belgian waffles. The house is in a nice residential area, a couple of miles south of the downtown area of Powell River. It is a short 5-minute walk to a small park on the waterfront. We would definitely stay here again.

With three of us travelling together and requiring two bedrooms, we opted for the downstairs suite in this large house located in a quiet suburban neighbourhood. It was ideal for our needs and budget, providing ample space, a full kitchen, dining room, living room, two bedrooms and bathrooms. A private entrance allowed us to come and go as we pleased.

Cheery Marie brought down our breakfasts each morning, which we ate at the dining table while discussing our plans for the day with her. The food was plentiful and tasty including her famous waffles we had one morning.

The suite provides all of the necessities you need for a comfortable and casual stay, and actually feels more like staying with a relative in their basement suite/apartment, rather than in a guest house. Unlike the previous reviewers, we didn't particularly like the pod shower, which would probably have been more appropriate in a small hotel ensuite rather than an expansive basement of a house where bathroom space wasn't an issue. But that's just personal taste.

Overall, a great place to stay, especially if there's a group of you.

We stayed for one night in September. Marie welcomed us and despite just being the two of us, let us use the downstairs suite. Great bed- amazing pod shower and nice to have a living room and kitchen- its like having an apartment .

Breakfast was great- served at the table in the room by Marie

Wish we had longer in Powell River

If you're looking for a B&B in Powell River don't look anywhere else. Book before you miss out. This place will tick all the boxes. We stayed 2 nights before going on an adventure into the mountains and really looked forward to returning a week later before returning to Aus. This is a beautiful large house maintained spotlessly with all the conveniences you need to relax in including a lovely garden and private outdoor sitting area . Total privacy in self contained unit downstairs and a wonderful host in Marie who makes you feel like a friend rather than a client. Cannot recommend highly enough.

We were very impressed with the spacious comfortable suite. The home is in a very nice neighbourhood with a park nearby to sit and enjoy the oceanview. Marie is a fantastic hostess and our breakfasts were delicious, especially the waffles with homemade blueberry/blackberry sauce.
We would definitely stay here again.
