Owner description: The climax of a 16 km (10 mile) scenic highway known as the Akamina Parkway, is Cameron Lake. Nestled between the majestic mountain peaks of the Akamina Ridge, this sub-alpine lake is one of many serene bodies of water that makes up Waterton Lakes National Park. Beautiful Cameron lake is a great place to rent a canoe and grizzlies are often seen on the far slopes.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2014

Love Cameron lake, didn't venture along the trails as we had no bells which warn wildlife. Non motorized watercraft on the lake, rentals available. We saw a young grizzly, we stayed in out car as mom was sure to be near. Love the different smells of the trees, so fresh.

“Canoeing on Cameron Lake”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2014

Like Glass!! Amazing early morning canoe and kayak time spent on the lake. We made four previous attempts and it was too windy. The people who work there were super nice and helpful. It took approximately 45 minutes to leisurely get all the way to the snow at the far end on a glassy lake so plan accordingly. We did not see any grizzly bears, but heard they are visible at the far end.

Liked the view and clean air. Disliked the mosquitoes and the smokers. Also disliked the ill-behaved children.

“Beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2014

We came here for a weekend without kids and decided in the last day to drive to Cameron lake. The drive was absolutely breath taking. We rented a paddle boat for an hour. The lake is beautiful! The view is amazing! It was windy and hard to get very far but that was expected. Make sure you bring cash or credit card to rent anything. There is no debit. Cannot wait to bring the kids!
